Thicker/Thinner? I hear them both. A friend recently got on for his 70 Cuda and thought it was thinner.
I do not see how they could be thinner with age as the fibers can only come apart and expand.

The originals that I have are all about 3/8" to 1/2" thick, the new ones are about 3/16"

When I put a new one in my Barracuda I could not get the reproduction clips to go in at all.
Measuring them showed they were bigger than the hole. The originals kept popping out so I ended up with parts store plastic circle ones.

So i got one of the REM insulation pads, cost was about $129 + s&h.QUOTE]
Seems a little pricey to me. Unless building an OEM spec restro theres no real advantage over the $45.00, free shipping, hood pad from vans.

I've had mine installed for a year and a half and 10K miles and it's holding up good, does the same job. I could buy two more backups and still be under that price.

Have a brand new, in the package hood insulation for a 64-68 Polara if anyone wants it. R.E.M. sent this to me by mistake for my '69, and didn't want it back. Not looking to make any money on it, just cover any shipping costs. I can provide pictures and measurements if needed.

I'm your guy, Limey. Thank you for the generous offer. I'm in Ohio, how about you?

I'm in Los Angeles. Where in Ohio? I'll figure out shipping costs and get back to you.
