this may seem like a stupid question, horn hasnt worked for along time and got around to having a look. checked everything and took the steerwheel off and seen there was a cable missing. this picture shows the terminal spade where i assume the cable connects onto and then where? i cant find another lug anywhere inside the steering column. i assume its back to earth?

big_john, i had a look today. either the terminal on the steering wheel has broken off or was never there. is there a wire missing? ive seen them through the steering shaft before but this has a solid shaft. i cant see to find any other mounting points.

ive tried bridging out the terminal to the wheel using wire and also the steering shaft but still didnt work.

i actually noticed the horn was disconnected as well before i started testing. sometimes the horn would activate randomly if i was pulling/force applied to the wheel or when i was reattaching the lug to the terminal on the horn. it was like i was shorting it out and it was working intermittently. i tried google but no success. im clearly missing something, but what?

thank you, my wheel is slightly different or that terminal tab has been broken (doesn't look it however), i was able to work it all out and get the horn to work. ill have to make something up sometime as a permanent fix but i really appreciate your help big_john.

The horn ring for my 68 Fury III convertible has two of those rings. One set of three screws connects it to the horn ring, and another set of three screws attaches the other ring to the first one. The horn ring is then screwed to the steering wheel. After that's done, you simply twist the horn cap clockwise into the horn ring assembly on the steering column.
