How Do I convert AutoTemp to Manual - 1969 Imperial Lebaron

I would be interested in finding out how that project turned out too.

Please keep us posted on the A/C conversion as I will likely be doing that myself sometime soon. 69 Imps rule!

Is a car ever finished? Is your workshop finished? Is your landscaping finished? Nope, always evolving.

My daily driver at present is a 1972 Imperial Lebaron coupe. Do I get a point for that?

You hit hit a home run with me now that the Imp is a DD.
Ross, seriously, great job. The wheels? I'll live with them ;-)

Thank you.

And thank you for living with the wheels. What a relief. :rolling:

Only because of your very low ranking on my hate scale.
Besides, you earned them. Congratulations you stubborn bastard.

Thanks, Bob. I don't deserve any credit though. The previous owner maintained the car meticulously. All I did was slam it down & put some wheels on it.

I'm back!

He got an PM from me too. The info email about the PM will maybe bring him back to us! It'S an interesting project! I like the lowered look.

HEY HEY!

Thanks for the messages guys!!! I dropped off the radar hard after I drowned my camera (I'd Like to say It was an interesting story like whilst fighting a bear .... but unfortunately all i did was get drunk and drop it into a lake ...)

I will still be deleting the A/C and changing over the AutoTemp to a manual set up .... however my focus right now is to get the car into body and paint!

I've made huge progress recently!
- engine bay is almost cleaned up! routing wires and vacuum lines is coming nicely (although there are still alot of wires and lines that are puzzling me!)
- my brakes are finished! calipers were sent to CarDone to be re sleeved and rebuilt, new lines all around and stainless braided drops to the wheels.
- stance and ride height are completed (the wheels I have would not work with the Budd calipers so I had to make/ Modify some wheel Spacers (It looks super mean ... nice and low and the front wheels tuck jusst right
)

- The interior .... OMG! looks amazing!
- I bought some material and my mom sewed me up a headliner based on the old one ... I was really worried about making adjustments etc. but I got it up there and it fit perfect ... took a while to get into place as its the first time I've done anything like that ... but all I can say is WOW!! \
- I sound proofed the interior with boom mat (DynaMat), and that shiny heat insulation stuff, then carpet fit for a king!
- The seats and seat covers I took over to a hot rod shop to get him to recover them .... would have taken me months!! I installed them recently and it actually looks like I'm starting to get something done!!

- Body wise I've started stripping the car from the bottom body line and below to see how bad it is, So far it looks excellent!!! small holes and some bullshit repairs but overall I lucked out HUGE!

We've also been doing a major overhaul of the shop .... knocked a wall down and expanded the shop by about 350 sq feet! .... plus organizing everything and oh my Lord was it a mess!!!

Pics to come soon! (Sorry for the absence and then a pictureless post :(

I'll make a full out build thread tonight .... I'm going to try to find some pictures on my other computer .... really pissed off I lost a lot of them .....

Stay Tuned!!

LA

Sound great, can't wait to see the pics!

If you need some information about the A/C, I found this video lately about the components of the Auto-Temp and what parts are different from the manual system!
