I prefer the "Next Generation Star Trek" to the original series......although I never like Jean Luc Picard. I like Kirk much better. Can't have everything I guess.

I really like that one too .. watched every episode or nearly. I liked Picard but Kirk was cool even though he's been spoofed since the series first aired.

That's ok. He digs it, and anyone who can laugh at himself makes him ok in my book. I never really thought they needed a "Shakespearean" trained actor to play the captain of a starship in the 24th century....."Bring forth the ring, Frodo"......first sign the train was headed off the rails...
