How to get police options on civilian Mopar?

There's still a few old school family owned Chrysler dealers around. Your essentially wanting a base model with a high performance drivetrain. I'd try some of the hill country dealerships over the major city ones. You may find a good 'ol boy that will fix you up.

I'll try that. Every month or two I have to work in an out-of-the way town -- Uvalde, etc.

Good find, thanks. Says it's for sale to municipality or law enforcement, though. And it's a six-banger. But that's the idea.

And just to clarify for everyone, I'm not looking for a "real" police car. I don't want the push bar, spotlights, etc. Just the super basic interior, HD suspension, V8, steelies. Basically the modern day equivalent of a Max Wedge car or '69 1/2 RR.

Keep in mind that if you can order the car the way you want you will pay more for less.

You could go online and order one also. It gives you a complete list of available options with nobody to say no.

Maybe I'm looking at the wrong place but when I try to go through those "build & price" steps it is very limited -- I can't find a full a la carte checklist -- it's already saying no! Basically what I want to do is start with an SE or SXT and then put on a handful of key options. But the Hemi does not come up as available on those trims, plus those trims already include a bunch of stuff I don't want, like multimedia options.

I guess I need to give up on this idea that I'm going to be able to order a Hemi car for $25k. Will probably get a used one for $10k or under and Lysol the bejeezus out of the back seat.

You have to order at least an RT to get a 5.7 or up.

Then there's the packages, you can't get this without that.

That's a good idea and with the money you save by a good Hotsy steam cleaner.

My assumption all along has been that SURELY there's a way around that. But maybe not.

You might try contacting a small town city controller. They handle all the money flow and fleet vehicle ordering for their community. Perhaps adding an extra vehicle to their fleet order they may save them a few bucks and so may be receptive to a deal like that.

Not sure how the finance would work, you pay and they order ..... they order and sell to you via a closed bid..... The controllers are usually open to saving some money.

If your town goes to a dealer that has a state contract no need for bid. The town walks in and orders what they need

The days of massaging the palms to get an engine that is not offered on the particular model are gone.
Every engine/tranny/rear end combo for every make/model has to do an EPA test for approval.
Manufacturers cant afford that.
If the order sheet says this engine is what get, you ain't getting around it.
No more 1 of nones.

Now that I know the codes, though, I can find dealers with those in stock and see if they'll let one go, versus trying to finagle a one-car order from Fleet. Thanks 67Monaco!
