Well, I'm going to epoxy it anyway. Only seems right.

Scott, got a pic of it as it is now?
Is it sealed or not sealed now?

Not sealed. OK.
Goes against common sense but I have to go with it.
I'm still going to seal mine with the thermal epoxy because I bought it and it can't hurt.
Now I have to ask why refrigerant doesn't leak out of there.
Anybody know? Any theories?

I think they semi seal it with dum-dum, 2 part epoxy may be over kill and murder for the next guy trying to pull it out as he is cursing you.

If I walked into a store today asked for dum-dum, they'd say He's on break....

Most good counter guys will know what dum-dum is. Sometimes called ribbon sealer, sometimes called glass sealer. it's black and sticky.

BUT........ You don't need it for the capillary tube
