Howdy from Montana folks. New member here. Recognize some of you folks from other forums. Just signed up here, the more knowledge the better. And I know I will be needing some help. It's been about five years since I totally stripped the car so I will likely have some assembly questions in the future. She should be back home from the paint booth this month.

i have lots of photos of the process if anyone is interested. Those are just the latest. Here is a shot of the car when I purchased it, then I begin the tear down.

Forgot to mention....I am not just some guy throwing cash at an old car. I scraped together the money to purchase the car and truck it to montana from Indiana. I stripped the car myself. If I knew how and had more time, I would of tackled the paint and body. But I left that to the pros. I will do all the reassembly, rebuild the front suspension, add rear sway bars, front disc conversion, cam/intake/carb/hp exhaust manifolds myself. In a few years when funds are replenished, I hope to build a 440 to swap in. For now, the 383 will be plenty to produce smiles for the wife and I on cruise nights. Hope to have the car on the road next Summer.

Welcome to the site from the Motor City! Nice car to start with. Are you restoring back to stock or what?

No, the car is factory white. You can see the blue in the photos. Other than paint and wheels and a slightly healthier motor, it will remain as such. The interior was already redone when I got the car, it is not correct though. I may fix that.

I love restorations that respect the car and not the ego. Looks like a very nice W.I. P. and I'll enjoy watcing the progess towards completion. Welcome to FCBO.

My intent is to have a basically stock appearing, with early "hot rodding" touches. Meaning that other than the color, the car will have things that someone might have added along the way. Like the planned 15 inch cop wheels with wider tires, window tint, sway bars, etc. I do however plan to make the car drive as well as I can. Hence the sway bars, disc fronts, perhaps subframe connectors, etc. I would like to have the car feel nice and tight without the pro touring look if that makes sense.

What does W.I.P. mean?

Welcome aboard you are well on your way to a beautiful car. I like the color too. WIP=work in progress

Welcome to the site. I'm in the same boat,I'll have alot more invested in my car than it'll ever be worth....but it's the one I've always wanted. Good luck with your project.
