Good Morning Gents,
I’m trying to freshen up these hubcaps. proving to be near impossible to paint myself. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Cheers.

LOTS of taping-off of the stainless steel areas will be very time-consuming, I suspect. THEN getting the surfaces prepared for ultimate paint will be similar, I suspect. NOT that it can't be done, or even do sections of all of them at the same time in an assy line situation, but it will take time and effort to make it happen. THEN comes the choice of paint and getting it applied for long-term durability.

Best of luck,

Time and patience. Masking tape and small width tape from a hobby shop, razor blade and scissors and comfortable chair on the patio (New York, scrap the patio! Refreshments help. Clean hub cap very well to get rid of any any, any traces of oil and dirt, boil if necessary and then let the fun begin. I did all four of mine three years ago along with one extra, spent +/- eight hours on each. After taping, I re-cleaned areas to be painted to remove any body oils. For paint, simply used Rust oleum, let it/them dry overnight and then baked them in the oven 30-45 minuted at 250 letting the oven cool down with them in it. The attached is how then look after three years; as good as the day I finished them. I am surprised how well they held up. I am in Arizona with casual driving and to and from car shows; New York and your use. might be different but believe the baking was the big contributor to my success! By the way, my hubcaps came apart in five pieces; 65 Sports Fury.

Baking instructions? How did the oven-cooked food taste afterward?

Just curious,

I have a solar oven that we use to cook lots of stuff and we can use it about 98% of the time in Tempe as we have a **** load of sun!
On the other hand, it roasts cars, house paint, your skin, etc. Tinting windows, car covers, double pane glass on houses, seat covers, dash mats and
sunshades are big here.
