I am taking a break nothing personal

LOL, the BS is getting real deep here.
I do have 2 bulls. Several calves and a lot of heifers but my 9 year old son does good in the skidsteer to keep the **** from piling up. Your opinion means as little to us as ours does to you so don't forget that amigo.

I won’t run away or leave a forum because I don’t like what is going on there politically or how the site is being run. I speak my mind in the proper way (some say I am a complainer or want something for nothing, but neither are true) and adjust accordingly. Sometimes it’s easy to just ignore the content of others, and sometimes me staying requires extra effort on my part, but I move forward, realizing that I can’t control the situation.

The serenity prayer often helps me. Sometimes quickly, sometimes slowly, but the next right thing always materializes, if I am mindful and work for it.

There are some law makers that will favor the criminals over the victims
It sometimes seems like that is true, but that's another (political) discussion. The real issue is the judicial system and how those laws are applied.

One of the reasons I suggested Massad Ayoob because of his familiarity with the police and the courts. He was a cop and has been an expert witness in many self-defense cases. Like any other good trainer, he's very big on situational awareness, or basically telling you to stay out of dark alleys at 2AM. He's also covered what to do if you are involved in a shooting.

This is really all "cover your ***" advice. Don't write something on social media you don't want to have read aloud in either criminal or civil court. What seems trivial can get blown out of proportion and used against you.

I really suggest you read the laws regarding self-defense shootings in your state. You'll find that even with Tennessee's Castle Doctrine laws, you still have to be in danger personally and not defending property. Shoot someone over an insured car? Ummm... No thanks. They can have the car because I know that lawyer's fees alone will be way more than the cost of the car.

I like the mantra - Don't be doing stupid things in stupid places with stupid people at a stupid time.

Exactly. Situational awareness is huge.

Ever see people walking through a parking lot with their face down, reading something on their cell phone? The bad guys see it too. Those are the folks that will get robbed. The person walking to their car, head up and aware, isn't going to be on their radar. They want to do things easy so they will prey on the easy targets.

Indeed. I also changed my fueling habits as well after watching a lot of theses videos. I now start the fuel pump and then walk around the the corners of the truck like I'm checking things, all the while just looking around at the vehicles and people movement. I also lock my door as soon as I get out as well. Seen a lot of videos of people sneaking up to the passenger side of the running vehicle being fueled and sliding in and across to the drivers seat and taking off. Pump hose and all hanging out. I used to just think I had to worry about this in crappy areas....now that our gate keepers have left the doors to our country wide open every area has shitty people praying on the blissful unaware.
But why would anyone leave the vehicle running while being fueled? Is turning and removing the key that hard? That's just an invitation.

I shouldn't have to be concerned nor am I about leaving it run. I find it hard to comprehend the lunacy of locking a door every time you exit the vehicle or shutting it off while fueling.
With that thought it's obvious everyone has their own way.

Agreed, you shouldn't have to be concerned about it. However, working with the public as I have over the past 50 years, I see the trends of drug abuse and disregard for fellow man and property. I choose to do at least the easy, simple things to protect myself, and my property. I don't consider that to be lunacy.

Here in the mountains of Colorado I leave the vehicle run some times while I am getting gas. Depends on how cold and frigid it is.
I only lock them when I go inside for something, not often.
As soon as I go down to the city people though I never leave it running. Even if I am standing right by it.
Plain and simple, the city is where the problem is. Covid times made the city people start coming out to the sticks and stealing all kinds of stuff during 2020 and 2021 especially. Here in Colorado we had cars that would get stolen here in my little town and then were found in the big cities around Colorado and neighboring states. I watched police let a car thief walk away from a car he stole one night here in my little town. Scott free.
The police and the goberment have drastically let the people of this country down.
And they are not helping us any longer either with 8064 pardons/commutations that have been issued in the last month. Ridiculous. All these jackers are given free passes. Or at least no bond and released.

Car jacked while pumping gas

Here was a recent one that comes to mind. I have seen others in years past though

John is looking more shaggy these days.

Oakland, CA is notorious for jackings and thefts at gas stations. These criminals are known as "bippers" - break a window or just grab something out of the car while the owner is pumping gas. Many times they don't know they've been robbed until they get back in the vehicle.

One more thing...those that always talk a big game about how they will pop a cap in them as if it's not a big deal I find very disingenuous. Either you are actually a cold blooded killer and have no regard for life or just not being honest with yourself and others. I will definitely do what is required to defend my life, friends and family...but don't take it lightly. If you are one of the people in the first category, I hope to not cross paths with you, especially if under the influence of any substances. Also, please consider a therapist before you end up in jail or dead. Even times I have gone hunting or had to be around when it was time to put a family pet down, it has always weighed heavily on me. I can't even imagine what taking a human life must be like and how it would effect me regardless of the circumstances. When it comes to taking someone life over personal property you better be very aware or you local laws because that's not as cut and dry as being in a deadly threat situation.
I would not do that to any one unless they try to car jack me or try to harm me . I know of some one who car was broken into so many times . He has called the law and this is what they told him I am sorry We cannot do anything about it we did not catch him so now he rigs his car up at night when the car burglars or thieves touch it they get a electric shock were it knocks them on the ground but it does not kill them . I know laws are different in every state but if owners were allowed to defend themselves and what belongs to them I believe there would be less theft and the owner of the property or the owner can turn their vicious dog on the thieves also . I had a pair of speakers stolen out of my '68 fury convertible the newspaper vender witnessed it the cops did nothing about it I noticed some one walking up the street with them I snatched the speakers out of his hands and if the pair ended up in the pawn shop I would of taken them off the shelf and walked out with them The new paper vender also would of taught me how to rig my car up when the car theif or burglar touches it he will get the shock or his hands burned and just because some one sues some one it does not mean they will get any thing . I will let you in on a secret the State of Virginia favors the criminals over the victims, I even knew some owners who fired in the ground to scare of a thief or a burglar and they never came back

How about we just talk about cars. Lots of fear mongering going on here. Here's a picture of one, it used to be a car now it's a ute. Not on your typical platform either. I didn't spend too long looking up what it was, but I think it started life as a 2006 A6.

Electrifying your vehicle while parked is just plain stupid and not at all a new idea. Hope the kids aren't around, also booby traps often get the person who set it and forgot. And what do you think a "bad guy" would do to the car after getting shocked? Walk away defeated? Possibly, more likely though, it would lead to vandalism.

There is an RX7 running around here with the truck bed on it now.
Funny lookin thing but I bet it serves his purpose well.

Check out Kit Car | United States | Smyth Performance car to truck kits . There is an Audi A4 kit among others.

One thing I have learned watching the videos that come out of other countries....2 dudes on a bike is bad news lol. Its crazy how many of them start like that.
ahh...has to be brazil. it's either thieves on bikes, or off-duty cops. gotten bad enough that there are now more and more clips of people just straight up running the thieves over, ramming them with their cars etc.
each country has their iconic duo with those kinds of videos...
china and industrial accidents
india and trains
brazil and off-duty cops
mexico and cartels
i'm sure there's others, anyone want to add to the list? lol

this is what really pisses me off is the thieves get a slap on the wrist The judicial system is a joke especially when it comes to our property getting stolen I believe instead of using a gun turn the dog loose on them . If the dog mauls the thief not the owner’s problem the dog did his job and from what I read the police letting a thief go that is what makes me really angry and it also sound like the police force in your area is a total joke .
