I don't understand Craigslist marketing

I agree with you whole heartedly, that's been my experience too. I used to say firm and they would still try to get me down. Now when selling something I price it and leave it at that and I don't say or best offer. It depends on the buyer too, I sold a car last April and the buyer flew in from Texas and drove it back home and paid my asking price without question. I must have had it priced fairly and he loved the color and he was the first person to look at it.

I don't understand some sellers on craigslist.
This guy seems to have a major problem taking a picture of his car with the car being completly on the picture

It is local for you Stan

Parting ways with 1968 Chrysler Newport. It has served us well over the years. It needs work. It has strong 383 engine. Needs new ignition canister, can't get key in. So, unless you hot wire it you can't turn it over. Been sitting around 4 weeks. Ignition canister is cheap and available, its the labor that costs you. Parts for this car are EASY to find.
Bad on car
Needs new vinyl roof. Got hit in parking lot, a hit and run, so has dent in side. Has other cosmetic issues.
Needs new bushings which I have the parts.
Good tires.
Has been daily driver.
Title in hand
FIRM PRICE.
I had it at 1699 so I have already come down alot on price.
Daughter wants to get into something newer.

Here's another nice example of someone selling his car, or is he?

The picture out of a photo album with not even the whole car in the shot gives it the finishing touch.

1968 Chrysler 300 - $1

Great big huge boat of a car. Body is flawless. Black interior is flawless. Original white paint (a few minor scratches) with perfect dark green vinyl top (not a convertible). Has a tired 440 with a tired transmission. It starts when the battery isn't dead and with about 3 or 4 squirts of engine starter. About 130xxx miles I'm guessing. I have an idea of what this car is worth. Your offer may determine whether or not I want to sell it. Text or call me with any questions.

What do you do when you run into a seller that has no clue how to market, take pix, or price ah car that's a clean southern car but doesn't run because he apparently backed it in to a single stall wood frame garage. Some how exited the car in a running mode and let idle 'til it ran out of gas and now clamz that theirz no room to get to the gas filler tube and restart it and get it out of said garage and iz still trying to sell it? AND I WANT THAT FRICKIN' CAR, AAARRRGGGHHHH

Tell the hillbilly to get one of his chainsaws and make a new door in his shack and put some damn gas in that car! LOL!

One of the dumbest things on Craigslist has to the phrase "asking $XXXX firm". Are you asking or are you firm??

My guess is that these are people who don't really want to sell the car. but the wife keeps pushing. "gee honey, I just listed the car again last week but no one seems to be interested. I guess i just have to keep driving it"
