Was looking at this thread again and of all things got fixated on the shiny metal tach center source problem. I'm thinking this Deluxe Disc Cutter & Doming Set should work on house aluminum flashing. Using the conical disc cutters.

There is a cheaper one too. I also wouldn't be surprised if a whole punch meant for paper would work and then sand and appropriate sized dowel to a cone and use it to form the disc.

I tried the hole punch like that and it just didn’t make a nice enough button, it wasn’t professional enough looking for me. The button needs to be chrome all the way around and along the sides. a smooth polished machine look could work.
