I got a Gold Star today

Stickers! Who doesn't love stickers, actually I got two stars along with the lettering for the doors and trunk.
These are exact reproductions as original are no longer available from the CHP if they had them they would give me a set.

I'm not sure what the rule is on reproducing them is but this is the only vendor that is correct, some on ebay are awful.

As for getting them from the CHP. It is getting harder to get the agreement to run the graphics on a car, I was fortunate enough to speak with the CHP Commissioner in person about my project and put my request in writing with him personally. With the agreement they will furnish you with the graphics the problem is there are no longer the correct vintage graphics out there, in the mid 90's the seal in the center was made in full color and the overall graphics were reflectorized.

These are also unique in that the head of the bear was swapped with a wolf head as a joke in the mid 60's, it went unnoticed for about 10 years.

I have been wearing classic aviators my entire adult life, long before the idea of even doing this car.

Once the car is vertualy done less all the exterior trim it needs to go back to the shop to have a few paint detail fixed and then a full final buff/polish

The graphics will then go on before the car is waxed.
