Please notice that the script covers are side-specific, rather than universal (as the later covers were BEFORE things like pcv valves. oil caps, crankcase breathers, and siuch got in the way.
"Chevrolet Orange" is not completely universal, either. Seems like the '55 engines had a different color, according to my machine shop operative. There was one year the engines were not "orange". It might also be possible that the truck motors were not orange?
When the 327s came to be, they got those different valve covers that could come with the stickers on them. Also noticed that they were taller and not side-epecific as to their shape. Past that, lots of little differences in the engines and their adornment.\
