I pulled the trigger on 2019 Scat Pack Charger

I've had people in the left lane in front of me on I-95 slow down and move to the lane to the right thinking I was a State Po-Po. Lol
I have worked on a few Police cars from time to time and I was on a test drive with one and a woman ran a stop sign in front of me. Not a lot I could do, but I did turn and follow her.

 That's funny. My friend got to drive a State Trooper Crown Vic to try and diagnose an at speed problem. The trooper told him to turn on the lights and siren, and hammer down, no one would be the wiser. He did as instructed, but never found the problem. Said it was the weirdest test drive he'd ever been on. Suburban Minneapolis, gotta love it.

But to me a 2 door would've be a better fit heritage wise.
It would, but they did this first, killing all heritage.

I'm sure that 148hp was just wild in 1984, even less the first two years.

If this is kosher, then my '92 Daytona was a real Daytona, just like the '70 model was?

Name recognition is all it's about, do you really think they would have sold as many Coronets? I've gotten over the blatant abuse of the name, but I still love my car, and what these cars can do. Ok, mine can't do all that, but it still looks good!

I have to say, hands down, Dodge has done a magnificent job with this car over the years. It's what Ford should have done with the Crown Vic.

Whoever the guys in styling department are..... should be given medals and wheelbarrows of cash for the styling and transformation changes made with the Charger during the last decade. Yep, I own one and I think they are just flat out beautiful today!!!

End of the 90's in a ferd dealer... we got all the cop crown vics for a lower BJ recall, and I being a driveability tech, got to tell them why the check engine light was on all the new units they drilled a hole into the gas tank with self taping screws while installing Motorola equipment on the rear bulkhead (fuel tank vertical between the trunk and rear axle).... Both jobs required a test drive after repairs, I got to hate driving them right away... jack asses would stop on green and wait for you, just so you didn't get behind them... tough to go fast, once some unconscious idiot realized you were there they brake checked you...

I taught a guy in the front end department how to do the ball joints and sold him a spare press I'd acquired (accidentally left a prior job in my toolbox, I really didn't know it was there when I left, and I sure wasn't going back... it was a shop tool and larry, mo, and curly didn't have much love from me at the time.) Ernie, became the BJ king on crown vics, and discovered free food at the taco bell drive through... nights I stayed late, he often got big bags of free, awful, food.

Then why use the Charger name at all? They very obviously were running on the backs of the Charger name. Don't be ridiculous.
Re read what i wrote above. Should been a two door from the start.

I'm in agreement it should have been a two door, and of course they used name recognition, that's why they sell so many. They didn't ruin any legacy by naming the car Charger.

I don't think the number of doors really impacts the legacy of anything......

The styling of the 2016 and up Chargers are some of the best Mopar ever made. In my opinion the Charger looks better now than the Challenger.

You had me agreeing till the Challenger comment. Obviously opinion but the Challenger is simply bad *** muscle in appearance, even as a six. The Charger lacks intimidation until it's dressed up as an RT.

They have done a great job updating the Charger for sure. The Challenger on the other hand is a great looking car, however the one outside update, the tail lights was a fail to me. The old lights going across the back looked so much better than the current ones IMHO.

Besides the wheels, and maybe calipers, my car looks like an R/T. The latest update may be a bigger difference between an R/T and the lesser models, but I really haven't looked. If I'm gonna dream about a car I can't afford, I'm going big. I don't think the lesser model Challengers look much different from their Charger equivalent.

Exactly my thoughts

You can find new Scat Packs in the $30's......

Those won't have all the Hellcat stuff but it will have the 392!

I like the Challenger too. And I might get a Hellcat Challenger.....because I would keep the Charger too. I bought a 1973 Challenger new and they very similar to the metric Challengers. I just think the styling guys at Mopar made a gigantic styling impact in the last decade with the Charger. And really no changes on the Challenger.
