Just saw this auction on MECUM that's being held this Wednesday in Indianapolis. A low miles mint 68 300. I love it and I want it......don't know if I can pay for it or even want to pay the price this one is going to get at the auction. And there's also the problem of me being 4200 miles away and no way I can be there on the 13th because of my work :BangHead:......

Aside from the green interior and the absence of head rests and power vents this is how I would order it today (maybe also in turbine bronze), aahhhh sweat dreams........

If it was Mediterranean Blue Metallic, I would have to castrate myself trying to buy it.

Edit: F $#@
And it's on a Wednesday, too. Gonna go cheap (relatively)

Why is there something amiss with the rocker panel trim just at the driver's door?

Now that is NICE! And I am not a fan of those as much as the fuselage cars. But that one really looks mint.

For my tastes...I like the '68 front end with the hideaway headlights and the rear end of a '67 with the waterfall type tail lights. Too bad you cannot have both.

I actually like the green exterior color. I used to own a '67 Newport sedan that was a similar if not same shade.

Wait one efn second. The right front fender is a 67 fender...
And where's the front marker lights.

Yes you can, once saw a 67 300 with the front clip of a 68, I loved it. That's an easy conversion. Also thought about doing it because I like the 67 interior more than the 68.

Has to do with the overall shape of the fender, if you look at your 67 newport (and also the NY, TC and 300) it would have been very hard (even impossible) to stamp the whole fender 1 one piece, they had to use a 2 piece design. In 68 the newport, NY and TC got a different design that could be stamped in 1 piece, the 300 kept the 67 fender design.

68 TC (same as newport)

About 12 years ago I had a 68 300 inspected that looked the same as this one, that one had 27k miles, was also in perfect condition, price back then was $14k, I didn't buy it because of the high price and because there was a strange bulge of 2" in one of the A pillars, looked like solder/tin. I cannot find the inspection report......something tells me this is the same car.....or maybe my memory is playing tricks with me....but I still want it
