I'd own one of these Pontiac Catalina 1966

Thank you. It's been a work in progress but it's definitely worth it, I enjoy it very much, along with my 67 Chrysler of course!

It's good to see some Pontiac love here. I've always been a Pontiac fan, especially T/A cars.

Here's my bird waiting for its turn to fly again. '67 326 H.O car with 3 pedals. I think the historical papers claim around 900 H.O. built that year. This one has an interesting backstory. Original owner was a known street racer and this car was used in a hit-and-run on a trooper back when it was new.

Nobody did stacked headlight front-ends better than Pontiac.... except for the '67. That one just looks weird to me, and also looks a lot like the back of a '72 Oldsmobile.

... as well as a '73 Newport.

That´s my favorite Pontiac :D. I would take the ´67 Catalina with the 2+2 package in a heartbeat. 428cid engine 4 speed manual on a fullsize, doesn´t get any better than that

I'd own and play with a Poncho waaaaaaaaaaaay before I'd even think of owning a Chitty!

There is a guy just a few minutes drive from me that has a '66 convertible with a 421 tri-power and a stick shift. The car is in similar condition to my Firebird posted above and has been sitting in the same carport for as long as I can remember. Of course the guy won't sell it because his grandmother bought it new. Maybe one day someone will get a chance to fix it up. I'll try to get a picture of it next time I go by.

I had a 67 Bonneville that was an original 428 car. Dark Blue with original patina'd paint. I removed the 428 to install in my 67 LeMans/Gto. Very early built motor and car, first year of 428 production. It grew on me.

I put a 400 out of a 74 grand am into the bonnie and kept it a running daily driver that was used by a friend of mine for several years. I hate to see old cars get trashed so I helped it out.

Still have the early 428 motor, sitting on a engine stand. Ran great when I pulled it.
My 69 Grand prix has a 428 and I love the motor! One of my favorite poncho motors so far.
My only fret with the 428 is that it seems like this motor gets a lot of oil drain when cornering causing the lifters to really tick. I've noticed this on all the 428's I've owned.

Is this an original HO car? It's awesome!
What color top and interior?
Any fancy options aside from the motor?

So it looked like this minus the 2+2 badges ?

You should have kept the 428 in it and sold it to me :mob:

It is a factory original H.O. car, 326 with a close ratio 3-speed (manual). The paint you see is original and she has a white top folded down (original color). Interior is white seats and door panels, black dash, console and carpet. The only extra options that I can think of right now are am/fm radio and the lowest gear ratio available (3.42 posi). She has manual steering and brakes.

I don't know if the original owner found it like that or special ordered it, but I do know it spent the first year street racing until the owner had to skip town in a hurry. I have copies of the news paper article from the hit and run this car was involved in. Then she lived as a street/strip car at a local (Wilmington, NC) dragstrip for a few years before being taken off the road in the mid '70s.

Just like that 2+2! Yep, I shoulda kept it together. I'd a sold it to ya as well.
I was very surprised how different the cars feel from 66-67-69. I love the 66 feel. The 67 was very boat like and my 69(grand prix) rides like a dream.

That is a very awesome Firechicken!! Great colors. Doesn't get much better than white on blue!

Had I not had a work commitment one day a couple years ago, I was jonesin" for this one.

more doors fine by me, genuine 8-lug work of Pontiac art to me -- plus a relative had one that my mom said was this triple blue color.

i dont quite recall the color as this, but I DO remember tooling I-70 to Kansas City with the windows down in that car. I also knew it was a 1966.

This 66' Bonneville, right in the neighborhood so to speak. my recollection was this one was low-mid teens asking price .. believe it went for that too. i'd a paid that all day long.

That is one good looking lead sled !!
Pontiac really knew how to make the front ends appealing. Far better look than any other GM and typically even better than the chryslers. Especially for the 60's models.
Honestly, after falling in love with the pontiacs I figured out that I liked mopars due to the similarities in the front grill designs.
