I ask this question because someone else with a '69 that I want a few parts from is offering me his car with an "untested" (but should be original) drivetrain in exchange for my running 440 from the other (free) '69 Imperial.

What I DO NOT want is two wounded beasts sitting around my house for more than 48 hrs. You stick me with this and they'll both get scrapped
.

I need the rear bumper, dual AC and dash from one car. You would in theory have enough parts to put together one good car. But you'd have to act fast. Both cars would be at the same address in NE suburban Detroit.

I'm trying to "preserve" some version of the car and I know shipping could be costly, thus the extreme discount. If I gave them away, I know I'd get jerked around.

This is my car:

Ok,, so one Imperial would have no dash and rear bumper
and the other no motor and trans... ( ? )
And thats it..............?

I wish I had more room at my shop or at least a fenced area behind where I could keep cars. One unregistered vehicle sitting in my backlot would be ticketed immediately, same unregistered vehicle sitting in the same location with a see through cyclone fenced area and that's fine...:soapbox:

Join the club! I've had a "spare" minivan parked behind a building I own for months. If it was anything besides a minivan I'm sure it would have been ticketed or stolen long ago. As a minivan, it's invisible to both ends of the criminal spectrum.

Yessims. The missing pieces would be from the car with less rust (the gold one).

I looked up DMA on google maps and got an address an hour away! Then I remembered you said Detroit which is 800 miles away. That's not an hour, sigh.

Ouch, it hurts to hear you want to scrap them. So much nice parts on them... If I were on the same continent, I would take them for sure!

@Dano , maybe you can take them and finally part out a 69 Imperial (or even two)... Detroit is not that far from you.

I do not want to scrap them or turn them over to the local craigslist where the 440 would get plucked and the rest hits the scrap pile.

However, it's mission critical to make some room here.

You are correct, there are literally tons of good parts and between the two, someone could build one.

Really a nice offer Carmine... wish I could do it, just to try to save one from the pair.

I know @LocuMob would like an engine and I've been moving slow, and you're closer... But I really hate the idea of good potential cars going to the crusher.

Thank you for the effort:thumbsup::thankyou:

I wish I could help, but space is a premium, and I could only tow one.
