66 Fury and want to check out the ignition switch and couldn't find anything online on removal. Want to make sure all the wires are in good shape. So wasn't sure if there was or are special tools to remove the tumbler and or what all needs removal. As always, thanks in advance.

IIRC maybe a special tool for the chrome ring to hold it into the dash (slots)
I just used a snap ring (outer) pliers to get to the inner slots of my 68 (hope it isn't to tight)
If the slots are on the outside of chrome ring use needle nose pliers or a large inner snap ring plier.

Tumbler assy. is removed by inserting key and using paper clip to push in side pin to remove tumbler.

Hey went to change it out and noticed that it had an extra prong on it for a ground? The original one is 5 prong and tbis replacement was 6? Possibly wrong one?

Pictures would help of switch & your wiring to see if we're working with standard or cobbled.

It look sum'tin like this?

Yep that's the new one but the one in the car only has 5 prongs and not the ground . The top left grd isn't on the old one in the car.

IIRC it won't hurt. Seems to me I have an unused prong on my 65 Polara, think it's the same switch. Hasn't been a problem yet....

The ignition adaptor that runs into the ignition switch looks pretty brand new and not the original for sure. **** , I'm so over chasing gremlins you know. I'm off the next few days and going to start going through all the wiring and fix the wires that look even questionable. Then it's off to the shop lol

Yep a few! One is like that going to to starter relay. See I'm far from mechanic but I believe that you should always at least attempt to work on your car some yourself. There's time where you just have to leave it to an professional lol. I myself manage and keep kids alive on life support and heart transplants lol.... Now that my friend I'm very good at lol.
