Saw this on Ebay, I called them and they said they wanted 9000. But they do some work on it for that price. Somebody look at all the pics and tell me what the price should be as is. Thanx all

There is a lot of rust repair to be done.Especially that pimply top. That exhaust has me worried about what the state of the mechanical systems may be. $2000 TOPs, IF I pulled the carpets and all floors (especially the trunk) are rock solid (very doubtful).

And my estimate is probably too high because I have a thing for Imperials.

$5,500 value of car in nice #2 driver condition, assuming mechanicals are up to snuff and working AC

-$2,000 rust repair that can be seen
-$2,000 rust repair that cannot be seen
-$1,500 super budget single-stage paint job
-$1,000 AC repair

You do the math!

However, if you love the car then it is :love9:priceless:love9:!

Some comparable 2-doors:

Those guys are nuts. I'm seriously looking for a 72 or 73.. this thing is junk! Major body work, roof rot, interior work, window switches are falling out, carpet is rotten, etc etc... the list is endless... 1500 dollar parts car.

Yep. And the headlight doors don't seem to work either, or the seller might have come up with the idea to take some pictures with the headlight doors closed.

I bet we'll see corporate (lot lizard) spray painted sponsorship on this car at the derby.

just caught up with this one. i dont like to criticize peoples' stuff harshly so I hope to take care with my words.

without assigning blame to anyone, it made me "sad" to look at this car, speculating how it came to be in this shape. it was nice once upon a time but i gotta agree from what obvious resto $$ you can see, figure it could be "2-3X" $$ for what you can't see that well (e.g., under the moldings, inside the doors, "nooks and crannies" of body, etc.) that well to bring it back.

not sure what seller planned to do to realize their price aspiration for it, but you might want to get a real good understanding of their plans (what about thin metal, metal replacement or body filler for holes, rubber parts, e.g,) for it if you decide to go for this one.

bottom line, I do not think this one is "economically viable" unless as Homerr says "its priceless" to someone. With enough money and time, anything is possible with it. But its highest and best use now may be dismantling it to help better cars live on as 78Brougham suggested.

It looks like a lifelong New England car that has survived a little better than most.

I've been to these guys website before a few times.. An awful lot of their cars seem to be overpriced for what they are. I think they just throw out a number and if someone bites on it fine if not... fine too. I just looked at those pics again from their website thinking I might have been too harsh... NAH... I was thinking to myself how could a car have so much rust bubbling up from under the vinyl roof... seemed very odd to me unless there was a lot of moisture trapped inside. The interior looks as if this car was in a flood. It seems like there is a rust water line on the parking brake lever, the brake pedal and the gas pedal LOL The carpeting on the door panels, which are falling off by btw, are bleached out on the drivers side and the backing is swelled out. My guess would be that there was at least a foot of water in that car at one time.

I've been to Dusty's. New Englanders call them Rusty's.
People sell their car to Dusty's when every other avenue failed to even bring a fraction of what the owner thought was Barrett-Jackson material.
Like the Count, Dusty always had a bunch of $100 bills in his pocket.

wow...look at that. sharp eye 78Brougham.

dunno for sure of course, but it looks like a "water line" left its calling card. "eye-ball" a straight line from e-brake pedal, over brake pedal, and nearly to top of gas pedal. and how does the gas pedal link rod rust like that?

i dont know this seller and have absolutely no comment on their reputation or knowledge of this car's history, but one feasible way the car got this way..it looks like its sprouting rust from the inside out -- everywhere...is it got waterlogged somehow? and if so, then there's the mold problem too.

"SMH" here.

Maybe it was a hurricane Sandy Victim and got retitled a couple times to loose the flood status. I have heard of that before........

If it wasn't an insurance claim there would be no flood designation on the title anyway.
