Since I am using my Newport -68 with 383 2-barrel as daily driver, and this year also in winter conditions, I want to install a heater in the lower hose btw radiator and water pump.

Does anyone know what the inner diameter is? I need this to get the right size of heater....

I drive usually few miles, seldom in salt, and when I do, I get the car promptly washed off. I got my studded winter tyres mounted last Friday. Did 700+ kilometers this weekend (an exception...) thru partly rural Sweden, between one of the kid's two water polo games with two different teams in two likewise different cities.

The Newport performed flawlessly.... And that in competition with my other winter car, a Merc 560 SEL -89.... But that is a different story.

I know they are a little more work to install, but I prefer the little freeze plug type block heaters myself. You can even put two of them in most V8s, one on each side. They are the heaters that most of us use around here. They work very well. Temps in winter here can dip to -30 to -35 overnight regularly, with at least one night of -40 every winter.
