I believe that the insulation pad is to minimze heat build-up in the intake/carb setup to reduce the possibility of vapor lock or intake charge heating. It doesn't likely have anything to do with noise reduction.
I checked it out and it was $39.00 US to buy it and only $61.00 US to ship to Canada Totals $138.00 Canadian....,,, Just waiting to bite the Bullet.....Catfish-65
Although it would seem that it way for heat, but the pad is there for noise reduction.I believe that the insulation pad is to minimze heat build-up in the intake/carb setup to reduce the possibility of vapor lock or intake charge heating. It doesn't likely have anything to do with noise reduction.
It was intended for noise, a little bit of heat supression was just an added bonus.has nothing to with heat.
I have laid eyes on this item, and it's dang righteous. No sense in home-crafting something that will likely look bogus.
Good luck getting these...
I ordered mine on the 26th of JULY...called on the 3rd of August
Guess I talked to the owner and I got a long rambling speech about how he had to cut all these decals out and was behind...blah blah blah. He made my request feel unimportant...and he had them in stock ready to ship.
He said he'd mail the pads that day.
I still have not received them. My email went un-answered and the voice mail is full.
Don't know what the issue might be but I'm feeling a bit scammed right now.
Too bad no one else makes these.
My best guess... Just there to hold down the padding. I saw no other purpose for it.on my imperial has that same plate so what is that for

Knowing that convenience costs more, I'll be happy to pay. Plus it's safer these days.
Anyway, I may or may not make one. after I deal with
A. My attic is sprayed to no foil.
B. I don't have time to scour construction sites and scrap piles for foil and fiberglass. Knowing that convenience costs more, I'll be happy to pay. Plus it's safer these days.

Technically... your belly gasket should be engine color if you don't run the insulator.
