Just a fyi, if you order the same part(s) online from Autozone that you get in the store, they will take 20% off and ship it free if you spend $100. They count a core as part of the parts total as well. The parts are drop shipped from several different vendors, and not from one distribution hub. Any problems or for your core$$ back, just take it into a store. No mailing anything back. Pretty neat.

Thanks, but the problem with AutoZone and Advanced is the prices can not compete with Rockauto. My son in law works at Advanced and we were checking prices yesterday via texting. Some of the prices were almost 50% cheaper through R A . Of course you have shipping charges but their prices more than make up for it.

Autozone does charge state sales tax, and I think RA does not when I have ordered. The biggest problem is returns for me. I'd rather throw it on the roof than take it back to the Post Office or worse yet a UPS store.

I don't get the part from RA if I'm not 100% if its correct. Better to spend the extra money hold in my hand at the counter and say nope that's not it.

The choices at RA are overwhelming compared to the limited selection at the others. Usually they dont have it anyway and I have to go back in a few hours, then its wrong anyway, like you said.

So much easier going through AAP and AZ for returns.

Also, AAP has better deals a lot of the time online. Buy a Group 27 battery (which you can't get from RA) $50 off on line, pick it up in the store 5 minutes later, and they'll even install it for free. (Yeah I know...I'll do the install myself, but I'll let them put one in my truck....especially today. LOL!) AAP also has a free rewards program which will get you an email for $20. Dang, that's $70 off a battery...

Advance. My RV2 compressor.
Same rebuilt brand as most other places.
With 20% coupon, $105.00 and no core nec.
And free shipping to my house.
Come on, hth can you beat that!

Napa does seem to be the most expensive. They do offer AAA discounts but it is not much, however in their defense unlike everywhere else, they can use a parts catalog if it is not on a computer.

You're correct and some of those NAPAs have machine shops on site I like the NAPA but I ALWAYS have to wait for a part there too

It always seems to be a much longer wait too.. They used to have superior parts, compared to others.. But now I don't see much of a difference.

I don't go much anymore. RA and a connection in Advanced keeps me out of NAPA except for oil filters

I've never ordered anything from Rock. I never think of them when I need something and planning ahead is not my strong suit. If I need something I generally want it same day and if I actually plan a project they never come up on my radar. I'm sure that'll change in the near future.
