Interesting New Yorker

You're right, must of been a hell of a builder to engineer that 4 speed in there!

:sSig_goodjob:

He didn't keep it long.

Those hood scoops would look real cool if they were painted white and moved to the front of the hood like the R/T's and SuperBee's had them placed.

Did you put those chrome exhaust tips on there or did he? What's your opinion on what looks good for exhausts tips for formals?

Obviously done by one hell of a builder. :icon_king:
PS: Builder was not responsible for the ugly hood scoops!

Those are A-body hood scoops. They are not ugly on the proper car. My '71 Demon has those scoops (see pic below). They don't suit that New Yorker..... in fact I don't think any scoop would be appropriate on a New Yorker.

Now I will say that is a sweet New Yorker with the 440/4-speed combo. But for that price I would expect nothing less than a leather interior!

The scoops were first introduced in '69 on Super Bees and Coronet R/Ts, so you should really do some research before you get snarky.

That is a really nice looking Demon you have.

I see you have just joined the site, do you have any full size Mopars to show us, or are you looking for one?

Snarky? ....... Moi?? ...... Snarky????

Yes I do know the scoops first appeared on the '69 Super Bee and R/T Coronet but my lil' bucket o' bolts came to mind first.

I don't have a full size Mopar yet. I've been lurking in the for sale section for a long time now and had to join when the pics wouldn't show up. My fav would be the '70 Chrysler 300 Hurst. The 2 door New Yorker in the op with the waterfall grill would be my next choice followed by a full size wagon. Gotta love them wagons. And I almost forgot a Sport Fury GT. Too many choices to pick just one!

For now, I'm looking to unload my Demon for a B-body but if a nice C-body floats along, I'm on it.

He did.
My preference was the car to be the ultimate Q-Ship. Was a long time dream for me. Another item checked off from the bucket list.

I think any chrome exhaust tips on any classic luxury car look freaking stupid.
Along with aftermarket mags, raised white letter tires (or worse: wide whites), deep tint windows, add-on gauges, Walmart steering wheel covers, cutting holes for speakers...
I have a list as long as you are tall.

I knew I liked this guy.................

Its interesting Wylde1 referred to them as A body scoops, I always referred to them as B body scoops.

I like them on that C however..........

Why is this guy selling it Stan, do you know?

Haven't a clue. Was shocked to see it mentioned by someone in the WIW section over on Moparts.
He's owned 20+ Mopars so I'm guessing he buys what he finds interesting, get's it out of his system, and then moves on to another one.

That's understandable.

It's very difficult for me to say goodbye to cars. Just like everybody else, I invest a ton of money and sell it for a fraction of what I have in it. I decided that I'm keeping everything I acquire from now on when I bought the NY'er.

I agree with you 100% totally.
I say that every time I buy a car....:icon_rolleyes:

No its not, not to me it isnt. Everything I have is because I like it. I dont get tired of things so I keep them, eternally.

But how about us with space & wife limitations?
I'm always forced to let one go to make room for the next one.
I'm talking about the car, btw.

You should move to Utah, there is plenty of space and you can have as many cars and wives as you want.

Good question. I have neither of those problems right now. The wife loves the cars and I still have room for more.

I stand by my original statement though...:yes_no:

My suggestion to all of you is to acquire as many of your must-have toys as is feasible while you're working.
After you retire, everything changes. And I mean everything.

I see that coming at me like a freight train but if I stop and think about it I'm going to have to work until I'm 80 tears old anyway.
