Just very recently purchased a restored 1970 Chrysler 300 Convertible, 440TNT, Factory AC, Factory AM-FM Stereo with 8 Track Player, Tilt/Telescope, original interior except for new carpet, white body, black top and interior. Currently car is in Michigan at my 91 yr old mothers home garage. Found the car on line when I did a search. Car was in S. Lyon, MI.

Welcome to the site from the Motor City!

Welcome from :canada: and another '70 300 Htop owner. Have you met Dale yet?....you will lol. I'd love to see some pics and your story of how you found this beauty.

Looks like a very nice convertible. Just a couple comments, the lower outside sill moldings seem like they are from a Newport rather than a 300, but maybe it is the photo that isn't as clear as it could be down there - the correct 300 lower moldings are a ribbed design with the ribs being silver and the background being black. If this is the case and if you want the car completely original, you might want to be looking for some of those correct moldings when you have nothing else to do. Also, if it is really a TNT car, it would normally have an orange engine, not the regular engine Chrysler blue color on yours. You should check you VIN plate, and if it says CM27U0C........, then it is likely the correct TNT engine but not painted the original color (assuming the present engine matches the VIN number) and if it starts CM27T0C, then it is the standard engine, despite with the pie tin says. Hope there are no surprises. Looks really nice though, with very sanitary new a/c lines and a very clean engine compartment and interior. Welcome.

I think the sill moldings are correct. They look better if the pinch weld is painted black, but that's a minor detail.

My car.

Welcome to FCBO! Very nice car you have there. Would love to hear the story as to how you found and acquired it.

My car.

My rocker panel moldings are as you described, ribbed, black, etc. What are your wheel lip moldings like? Mine are smooth - no ribs. Your car looks really sharp. Whoever restored my car removed the 'fender tag' and did not put it back on. I have no idea who did or what happened to it. I hope to track it done when I find out who did the restoration.

That is a shame your fender tag is missing. . . However, you might want to remove the back seat bottom cushion and see if your build sheet is still stuffed inside the springs. Having that item is even better than having the fender tag.

I do have the build sheet. Just hoping to locate the balance of the history on my car and identify who did the restoration work.

Thanks.

The trim should have a black stripe in the center.

Here's some from a different car.
