My name is Justin. I just acquired a 1968 Chrysler 300 that's been sitting for 25+ years. Its coming from New Mexico to North Carolina. Not sure where to start, but I'm going to attempt to get her on the road.

Welcome, and yes we all want many pictures. Even a link to the for sale ad would be cool.
  1. Do you know if the motor is free? If not put a breaker bar on the crank and try to spin it over.
  2. Rebuild the carb, drop and inspect the fuel tank, clean the lines, change the fuel filter.
  3. Pull the bulkhead connector apart; inspect, clean and put some deox in there.
  4. Pull the brakes apart, check the wheel cylinders, replace the rubber flex hoses and any hard lines that look crusty. Be sure to flush all of the old fluid out.
Make it safe. I just went through this with my NYer in the last year. Wonderful old cars they are.

Yes Sir, Here's the pics

That looks like an odd place to leave a car sitting for a long time. Step one is a pressure washer in that engine bay.

Awesome! Thank you for the advice. I don't know if the motor is seized up or not. It was left at a neighbors house where I grew up in New Mexico. I used to play in it as a little kid. I'm 40 years old now. The neighbor was like a grandmother to me, and she died about 2 years ago. Her son was getting rid of a bunch of the old cars and trucks sitting in the yard. The person who left the 300 there, left it there 30+ years ago. We assumed they abandoned it there since its been sitting there so long. I attempted to look for the lady on the registration from 1986, but all the numbers I found for her, either nobody answered or it was a wrong number. I'm applying for a Surety Bond and title. It should get to NC by the end of the month. The son and I did a bill of sale. I am pumped to get it out here and start working on it! Thank you for the warm welcome

The pictures are of the car after I got it out of my old neighbors place. Incredibly all the tires inflated except for one, which we switched out with the spare. The spare pumped up as well. It took my buddy and I 5 hours to get it out to my mom's place.

Very exciting find! I would imagine being in NM there is little rust but the interior must be toast. It may turn over too who knows!
Welcome to the forum.

TNT! That could be good stuff right there! Welcome to the site from the Motor City!
This one will be fun to watch.

What is the difference between a Commando and a TNT??

Ahhh I see. Simple as that lol! Thx
