Are you sure that is not the aux power unit you are looking at? A Am Lafrance 700-800 should have a Continental engine as the main drive engine.

I'm not an expert on old firetrucks, but I bet that it is a transplant if it is the main drive engine. The truck was made sometime between about 49-56, and should most likely have come equipped with a 600-800 cubic inch Continental V12. The engine in there is somewhat newer (1958 or later) and is a MoPar product. I bet the company who used it after it's real life (decal on the door) and wrecked the thing replaced the engine.

That 413 is only engine in the truck, can't find a second engine and it connects to a monster transmission with a drive shaft to the rear end.
