Looking for a clear photo of the decal applied to the vent wing window on '56 '57 '58 Coronet Texans. Decal is in the shape of the state of Texas and text reads:
"Made especially for Texan's by Dodge". Thanks for your help!

I have a very blurry photo I found 20 years ago. Someone took a picture of the car in a salvage yard with an old cell phone so quality is very poor. Never seen another. I am going to reproduce the decal (old water slide inside the glass) but the photo is so faded it is difficult to tell what the color of the font is. Hoping to hear from someone with a better photo or someone who has one on on their car that can share a picture.
BTW I think this predates the well known Ford "Made in Texas by Texans" stickers.

Just saw your location. Not far from where I grew up. Spent some time chasing girls in Desoto!

The Ford rear window decal was around in 1958 and a few years prior, for Fords built in the old Dallas, TX plant.

I had family that worked at that plant. I think 1950 was the first year for the Ford decal.

1956 Was a special edition Royal Lancer sold in Texas and surrounding states. BTW there was a 1955 & '56 La Femme edition that was sold nationwide. 1957 used a Coronet platform. I believe that the majority were white with gold accents at least for '56 and '57 although I have seen photos of other colors but not sure they are original paint. I believe that they were all 2dr HT cars but again I have seen some 2dr sedan's and a couple of 4 doors but I suspect the badges were added after the sale. Most Le Femme's were lavender and white with some coral and white.

First image is a Dash Plate for '56
Second is the quarter panel badge for '56
3, 4 and 5 were used on '57's (I think) 4 and 5 were '57 for sure.
Number 3 seems to be a transition piece that I have seen on '56 and '57's so not sure that these weren't added to cars after delivery.

I remlember seeing the "Texans" when they were new. As I recall, the LaFemme was a nationwide model which was configured to appeal to the femal buyers who wanted something "for themselves" rather than otherwise.

There was also a television series "The Texan", as I recall, too. NOT to forget the famous Dale Robertson western-themed 1958 Buick Convertible in that mix, too. Complete with several rifle holders in the interior!

Enjoy!

I've personally never heard of a decal, this is new to me. I'd like to see the photo of the decal. Could try asking Bo Malefors if he has ever heard of this.

Not familiar with Bo Malefors. What is his background? Is he a Dodge "Texan " guy? Can you provide contact info or can you forward a link to this thread to him?
Thanks!
