Well I fired up my overhauled 383 for 1st time tonite and took for a hoodless cruise.
For future reference, msd distributors won’t fire on weak battery. Put cables on it and it roared to life after a week of pulling my hair out. Fittingly it’s Halloween and I can yell
“It’s Alive” lol

ONE drawback of electronic ignitions is that they take a minimum voltage to fire the plugs. Even IF the engine spins over fast enough for it to otherwise start (with points). Until that min voltage level is met, it'll just spin over, by observation. Not unlike EFI which needs a certain level of fuel pressure for the injectors to "fire".
