I've seen this picture many times over the years....

It is.....read the article.
I read the right after seeing the picture the first time. These days one tends to question pics like that due to the fact any image you can think of can be manufactured by photoshop so that it looks like the real mccoy.

With safety and moral standards in today's world this picture would seem improbable.

I don't think they would have that picture hanging up on the wall by the elevator going up to the Observatory Deck in the Empire State Building if there was any doubt whatsoever that the picture was a fake.

This is real.....didn't any of you guys see the documentary where there are guys way up with no safety equipment that are almost skipping on those beams? I'm not kidding, it amazes me.

Keep in mind that this may not have been their first pick for a job, this was during the depression. And can you imagine what it was like with the wind blowing?

And I can almost garauntee that none of them owned there own car.

Why would you think this photo is a fake? The photo has been around as long as I can remember along with similar ones of the era.

Cool picture! First time I've seen the picture, and you wouldn't catch me up there.

It looks like a pretty nice day throw in some rain or snow, more wind then your having a crappy day at work.

i most definitly tell you it is real-the old guys at work used to laugh at us young punk kids for just asking for a rope to grab at

There's a 4' harness available and you're not suppose to use a harness when less than 4' up.
