I'd give you a lift to the garage any time.

My gf bails me out anytime. I guess. :)

Pass time is a show on Speed where contestants have to guess the 1/4 mile ET's & the closest to the correct ET gets the cash for that round. Best show on TV if you're into drag racing.

I've watched that show a couple of times..... Kinda boring.... Lots of Chevys or fords with chevy engines.
I lost interest in drag racing when the class racing was eliminated in favor of bracket racing...... Who likes to watch someones Tow vehicle beat out a gasser with a 10 minute head start..... LOL

I'm working on that....if the economy had held out for six more months I would have had phone,a t.v and a lift in the garage
Dave, you've expressed exactly what has happened to everybody. I got all that I considered due to me ( and took it without any remorse) the day before the economy went over the cliff. I'm broke as hell now but I got stuff!!
That's why all the financial experst are saying turn every penny you have into personal assets right now because after January whatever money you have and plan to make will be as worthless as tits on a bull.

I agree completely about bracket racing, boring. Run what you brung & get to the other end first. Sand bagging & cheating killed drag racing. Doesn't keep me from going to the track though. I love watching just about anything running 12's or faster.

Have you seen ProMod racing? Pretty cool racing class. Blowers, Turbos, or Nitrous! Run what you brung. .500 Pro Tree. Full 1/4 mile racing. Running in the 5.80's/5.90's at 240-255mph.

I would rather follow Promod, Top Sportsman, Outlaw 10.5, X275 then Top fuel Dragstars and Funny Cars.

I hate drag racing the way it is today. Refuse to watch it or follow it.
I'm still living by the 1968 rules.
Light turns green. First car to travel 1,320 feet wins. Period. End of story. No computers to program your launch. You popped the freakin clutch and didn't take your foot off the gas pedal. This stuff today is all crap!

Local drag racing is very much alive & well. There was the last event of the season this weekend for the Modern Street Hemi Shootout. Lot's of serious guys in cars that are mostly driven to the track & a bunch of them are daily drivers. Today, a daily driver Challenger went 9.46 & I saw a Jeep go 9.17. A Charger went 8's this summer & a few other guys will get to 8's soon. All in full steel body street cars & most of them still running independent rear suspension. The Jeeps run straight axles since there's plenty of room for it. By the way, MSHS divides the cars into classes & they run heads up, no bracket bullshit.

The pro mod cars are a blast to watch in person but I'll always be a street car guy.

To show you how out of touch I am, I have no idea what MSHS is...

...and then there's the street racing crowd who hammer out mods and techniques on "run whatcah brung" friday nights out at a drag strip here in the pine barrens of NJ.

Exactly what I'm talking about. At National Trail Raceway here in Columbus it's Friday Night Street Fights. You can also run street cars on Wednesdays & Sundays.

They call it Grudge Racing in my area. Alledged street cars racing on cash bets. No ET or MPH......just a win light. It's fun once in a while. Watch the videos...the music and commentary is over the top on the video. Need a effing translator! The best commentary is at the end.
