Got a wierd phone call yesterday on my newport I had for sale. Guy from MI asking if it was still available, and if it was running and driving. I replied yes. He then asked if I was available tomarrow. (Thinking what in the hell?) I said yes, after 2pm I'm free. He told me he would be there tomarrow afternoon, coming from MI. Never asked any questions about the car, condition or anything. Seemed kinda shady... But sure as S#it a few guys showed up today, and bought my car.. They drove through the night to get here... I'm kinda blown away from it.. Obviously the car was for sale, but never thought it would sell.. Now its kinda hitting me hard.

The car was sold to a kid. I explained to him, I'll sell you it, on 2 conditions.. DONT DERBY IT!! And.. If you fix her up, I'd love to see some pics.. He said that would be great!

After handing over the cash, and me handing over the tittle, he explained to me that he was gonna put a nice sound system in the trunk, and repaint it either black, or forest green! My head sank, but $$ was already in my pocket.. :BangHead:

They then asked if there was a hotel they could stay at in the area, I said I would take them to the main drag where all the resturants/hotels are at. They followed behind me. I swear to god, every corner the kid was fishtailing the car, every straight away the car was being hammered on.. Good lord.. I got my asking price for it, but I can only imagine what my car is going threw right now...

Saying goodbye..

Idk what to think.... Atleast I got a few bucks. lol

Congrats on the sale!

The kid sounds like he is in a one car street derby. I hope it doesn't end up wrapped around a telephone pole or a tree.

Sounds like it won't be in a demo derby, at least not in an arena setting. Try not to think about it too much. You at least tried to do your due diligence.

Poor car, thats all I can say, why my generation has zero respect for anything I'd love to know.

Ugggghhh

Edit: the day I sold my Parts car was bitter sweet too, I felt sort of attached to it but I needed the money to save my Fury, I honestly hate the guy I sold it too, he was a prick.

Yes it is, I liked that car from the first time I saw it. Congrats on the sale.

Thank you guys.. Appreciate it.

Just kind of a wierd ordeal. Even while they were here over looking the car, they NEVER asked anything. Zip zero questions about anything. They explained how they had all these car prior.. yet everything I mentioned about the car, they had kind of a puzzled look on thier face. Obviously not car guys. BUT what can you do when your asking price is right in fornt of you..

Yes mdh.. It was a factory sunroof car. Is a special order car, and that was the only option on the car. Thats what killed me the most. Special order car, with a lot of history as a pace car for batavia downs horse track, and now its going to become a donk it seems..... I need some tissues haha

That would be absolutely terrible if he painted it forest green. I can see why you're upset. ;)

All you can do is turn around, head to the bank, and don't look back. Just look forward.

Some very sound advice. Just need to put it in motion! lol I've got my money, and now I don't have to worry about messing with the sunroof I guess!

They wouldnt have drove all that way if they weren't car guys

Kids can be pretty stupid. AMHIK :)

I don't mean to sound hostile.. They were pretty nice, and very friendly. They may very well have been car guys... Just didn't get very good vibes from it all.

I drove like an idiot when I was young too. I didn't crash any of them.
