Lakeland, FL Annual Labor Day Car Show

I Haven't really driven the NY'er much since the front end work so I thought I'd take a ride up to the Lakeland Car Show to get the torsion bars settled in and blow out some carbon. Perfect day for an A/C torture test. Ice cold as they say.

I met my bud Lance The Destroyer. He's finally Moparless except for his Ram P/U. Sold his very nice 63 New Yorker to Sveeden....
Now he's got some serious money in hand to get what he really wants: a 61-64 Chrysler 2 door (anything) needing NOTHING.

Nice turnout. 400 - 500 cars. 75% Chevies. 10 Mopars. 1 C-body (me).

My friend Lakeland Lash and his partner in crime Mike were there. He had his Armorall and Krylon Fanboys around him trying to do deals. The other 95% of the attendees shunned him like the plague.

I took pics of all the Mopars, a couple of lil cuties, one that I've always liked, and lastly a Riv I talked seriously to the guy about selling. Been trolling for one of these for years. We're $4k apart and neither of us are budging.

Nice cars! Nice show!

Too bad there wasn't any more C-bodies.

Maybe you wore it inside-out. :)
I wanted to be rapper cool and blew it. Kriss Kross would be front to the back.

Will somebody move this post to The General Section?

Thread moved to "General/Anything Goes" section.

Who would have the nerve to order and actually drive a Glas Goggomobil microcar in late 50s/60s US car traffic ?
This manufacturer invented use of a timing belt as a replacement for the chain btw. in their later four stroke engine designs, for good or bad.

Nice pics Stan, thanks! I was a little disappointed that by cuties you weren't referring to some young ladies though.

I had a 73 500r Fiat several years ago. 2 cylinder with about 25hp. Driving that in todays traffic was downright scary.

Great pics, I too really like the Mauraders. I bet that thing moves with the Cobra goodies.

I looked inside hoping it was one of those 5 speed stick conversions but no such luck. Actually, out of 500 cars, I saw ZERO creativity. ZERO!!

I went to the local Labour Day Mopar show here...4 C bodies including mine...2 KT Keller era cars, 3 Exner cars, the rest were A, B, E and new stuff. Really felt unwelcome and left after an hour and a half.

This is what made my blood boil. The Vetteboyz came the night before and placed pylons marking their turf in prime real estate (2 entire rows, both sides). A couple showed at 6:00 AM to prevent invaders of their turf. They had nothing to do with the show, no sponsorship, no involvement other than show up and eat free food. 95% were C5 and C6 Vettes loaded with every bling imaginable that required nothing more than peeling off the back of double-sided tape or in extreme cases, a Phillips screwdriver. Standing at the head of the rows, all you could see were a hundred Karate Kids doing their Waxonwaxoff training. Disgusting, disgusting, people.

I still want that Rviera, though.........

Thats lame. 80% or more of the Vette guys piss me off. There a few in our small town, and of the few only one is actually cool.
