Lakeland, FL Annual Labor Day Car Show . Mod please move

This is what made my blood boil. The Vetteboyz came the night before and placed pylons marking their turf in prime real estate (2 entire rows, both sides). A couple showed at 6:00 AM to prevent invaders of their turf. They had nothing to do with the show, no sponsorship, no involvement other than show up and eat free food. 95% were C5 and C6 Vettes loaded with every bling imaginable that required nothing more than peeling off the back of double-sided tape or in extreme cases, a Phillips screwdriver. Standing at the head of the rows, all you could see were a hundred Karate Kids doing their Waxonwaxoff training. Disgusting, disgusting, people.

I still want that Rviera, though.........

Very few C5 &C6 Vetteboyz at the Lowe's Cruise. I usually park in the same area at Lowe's (along the back row next to the grass so I'm not taking up 2 spaces) and one week there was about 5 of them (C5, C6) parked in that area. There was one space open in the middle of them so I decided to park there. I pulled up,stopped and started backing up in the spot and 2 of them stood in the spot and tried to wave me off. I just kept backing up and they moved out of the way. There was 3 of them standing behind my car when I got out of the Ny'er. I told them to be careful when 5,000 lbs of Chrysler steel is backing up...it could hurt! I don't have a problem with the C1, C2, C3 guys.....they are regular car guys like us and passionate about their cars.

Good for you, Bob!!!
After getting out and letting them see who they were dealing with probably helped, too. LOL.

LOL! I really try not to intimidate anyone that way.

I prefer to use my mind and eloquence to get my point across....

Vette people aren't exactly down and dirty motorheads. I lived by a guy with an older corvette once (72?), Tony was the only vette owner I've ever seen actually get underneath it (bad transmission) with wrenches and tools and stuff, out in our apartment parking lot in the dead of winter.

a lot of our shows overhere (including our Mopar Nationals) are pre 1979 cars only.
So all the modern cars (no matter if tupperware, Mustangs or Challengers etc) are not allowed to enter the showground.

I think that is great. If I would want to see C5 or C6 Vettes then I can go to a used car dealer lot

**** for modern cars

I was at the Lakeland. why do they onlabordays its way too hot. by noon 2/3of the cars were gone.

if we tried that in upstate ny there would be no show.

I was at the Lakeland. Why do they have it on labor day, It's way too hot. By noon, 2/3rds. of the cars were gone.
I think it's the perfect time to start of the show season. All the cars are local. No Snowbird cars yet.
It was gorgeous in the shade....
