I met Richard Petty back about 1974 as a kid wasting time in a Walmart in Florida. It was quite funny how it all happened.

My older brother saw him & ran over to me to tell me.

I went around to check and thee he was shopping for engine oil in K-Mart of all places.

Both my brother & I swabbled about if it was him or not.
I worked up the courage to ask him and sure enough he was.
I not wanting to be tricked by this guy asked for his Nascar card.
He let out a big laugh & then pulled it out of his wallet to prove he was the king.
I then shook his hand and told him I was pleased to meet my NasCar idol.

My brother on the other hand was gob smacked and stood there like a bone head not saying a word.

that was my brush with fame that day.

I'm the goofball on the left!

Seems hard to believe this happened just this past January. Seems like forever ago now. I'm the one on the right in the Moparfest shirt.

And they let you in dressed like that?? :poke:
We fit right in with Jay in his unbuttoned denim shirt and loose-fit jeans. :) He apparently likes his Mopars too. The Turbine has to be one of his favourite post-war cars, he definitely has a fondness for Chrysler 300s, and has a couple Imperials too.
