Would you be willing to post the tag for PM27G0D143858? I have seen its VIN, but the full tag would be great as this year is the 50th anniversary of the cars!

Thank you! Now we know that your now-triple-white Fury’ scheduled production date was Oct. 23,1969; some of her history since then; and, your ongoing plans for the car!

Thanks to @71Polara383, we got to see the fender tag of a 1970 Newport 'vert today: CE27LOC192795 is currently for sale in Joliet, IL. The tag shows a build date of Feb. 5, 1970. She was originally FY6 but was repainted in what seems to be DY3; her original V3X top was replaced by a white one.

Like CE27L0C210785 (which was advertised for sale in Seattle, WA back in 2014), this 383-2 Illinois ragtop sports the apparently rare (on a Newport) E6 buckets. In this case though, they are black -- not tan.

A couple more well-equipped Polara convertible tags, from cars previously owned by @mdh157 :

DL27N0D191216 has a tag build date of January 26, 1970;
DL27T0D235593 has a tag build date of April 10, 1970; her window sticker is here; she has re-emerged in Finland.

My vert was born on the same day (Note: 6/11). I wonder how close they were on the line:

I'd love to see all the 70 verts lined up one day...

Well, that is what I have been hoping for Carlisle this year -- assuming the show is on. I'd be bringing Poppy and Snow White. Right before the pandemic lockdowns, 7 other Polara vert owners had planned to join. I was going to contact Plymouth and Chrysler owners too, but then put things on hold till there is some clarity.

Any chance that CM27T0C251780 might be ready in time to make it?

If we can get a bunch of guys to push it in along the route, LOL.

My plan this year is to get it running reliably. Once it is under it's own power I'll dig into the sheet metal and then paint. Carlisle 2022 is the target date, but if it runs good enough I'll bring it as a work in progress next year.

I just finished rebuilding the steering column, but still collecting the remaining parts for the engine assembly. I have a bit up updating on my build thread, just haven't had time to upload pics and post.

A few 318 cars today. First are a couple Plymouth (for a change) built on the same day:

1. PM27L0D149665 was bought and parted out by @Wollfen back in 2016. The tag of this ER6 Red Fury iii ragtop with black buckets and console tag, which was saved, shows a build date of October 31, 1969.

2. PM27G0D149483 is an EB5 Blue (great color!) Fury iii convertible that went for sale in Illinois back in 2017. It sold for close to the "FCBO C-body price" at 2.6k. FWIW, I am surprised at the low number given the lowish miles (76k), the buckets, and the attractive blue/blue/black color combo. The FCBO thread, with the tag, is here; additional photos are still available from the auction site. She was also built October 31, 1969.

Next is a Dodge.

3. Here is another 318-equipped car: DL27G0D144485, an ER6 Red Polara 'vert that was wrecked before it was sold to and parted by @Furyman in Ontario many years ago. The broadcast sheet is here. As @Furyman noted, it is 1 of 5 Polara verts (out of the 842 produced in total) that were Y05 US Spec yet were leased/sold new in Canada. Peter's DY3 yellow 'vert, DL27G0D241221, is another.

Here is the fender tag for PM27L0D182625, a very well preserved Fury iii convertible currently for sale in KS (Edit: added the build sheet).

Thank you for posting the tag for CM27T0C212736. Build date is March 26, 1970. Do you also have the tag of your U-code red 300 'vert?

I don't have the fender tag for CE27L0C219440, a super-rare, special-order 3-speed manual Newport 'vert that the second owner sold to PA in 2011. What I did get, are the VIN plate and the order sheet of this TX9 paint / E6T5 tan buckets / V3W white vinyl top Chrysler.

I see that it was an ordered car but I don't see anything that indicates 'special order'. There's nothing out of line or out of the ordinary on the sticker.
Did you mean to say you have the window sticker or do you have the order sheet and posted the window sticker?

Reporting what the second owner said the first owner told him — see the link I provided, I gave my sources.

This said... Three on the tree. No power brakes or steering. Is that not “out of the ordinary” on a 1970 Chrysler ‘vert? :poke:

Yes, I know that. My point is there is nothing 'special' to claim special ordered about the car regardless of who said what. There is no extra cost paint. The car does not have a non recommended color and trim combination. There is nothing out of line about the way the car was ordered. Everything stated was possible.

People forget how cars were ordered. You sat down with an order sheet and outfitted a car how you wanted it. The choices were far more numerous than they are today making the potential combinations far greater. Ordered does not equal special ordered.

The lack of an option is simply a lack of an option. Different cars are optioned differently. That's why they are called options.

What is probably the most uncommon aspect of the car is the lack of a radio. When ~98% of cars came with one, especially up market cars like a Chrysler, that is uncommon but not 'special'.

I really wonder what the concept of the original owner was when he ordered the car like this. It's not all spartan and frugal, as it received power windows (which do make sense on a convertible) bucket seats (maybe he liked the idea of having a center armrest) and even a power driver's seat. A remote-controlled outside rearview mirror makes sense if you have short arms. The rimblow steering wheel must have somehow intrigued him. A three-speed wiper might come in handy if you run into a downpour in Virgnia. Then on the other hand the original owner scoffed at other very common options, as was already pointed out above. So this is really rare, if not even weird.
