Have you actually put a tape measure on a 5.9 Cummins? They are long and tall, two things a C-body engine compartment ain't. They only weigh 1100 lbs dry so holding it up should be easy with a set of 1.5" custom torsion bars.

Short of a custom built tank you are out of luck on a gas tank for a wagon. Spectra makes them for a 72 sedan/hard top but no wagon.

I would do that to a so-so Formal or to a Fuselage with one axle in the grave, but OH GOD NO, NOT to this car.

Yeah I may need to move the radiator in front of the core support. Since the first gen cummins came with a 727 I would love to leave the trans mount alone to simplify the swap, but I may need to move it back some.

Trust me I wouldn't do it to a restorable car. I got this car as basically a shell. The pics make it look better than it is. I view it as a clean sheet of paper. While I love mopars the B/RB is just not worth the money to me, and small blocks just don't have the torque to move it. So trying to stay within the Brand I think a Cummins is the perfect choice.

Very true! In fact the member who started this great thread only has that one post. Wonder if he knows how well his one and only did.

I've had a 1967 Town and Country for 12 years. It was an airport car. It was used by a pilot who came here to fish and used it as a "get to the Sierras" car. It needs some tlc but starts. It is a fully optioned 440 HP car. It has dual snorkel air cleaner and I've purchased extra parts for it. I'm driving a Roadrunner so ready to say "good bye" to my Wagon. $3500. Its always been in California in the high desert. Solid project.
