Life can definately be filled with unexpected TWISTS and turns.

You have back pain too Bryan?

Yes unfortunately, fell off a ladder 25 years ago and landed on my my butt on the concrete floor in the warehouse. It's bothered me ever since .. pinched sciatica and arthritis in it now. Also had a disc pop out just below my shoulder blades 7 years ago. The PT pushed it back in but every time I sneeze it feel it move out slightly and back in now.

I would hate to be afraid to sneeze, they are most of the time rather enjoyable...

Humanoids have suffered from back pain ever since the first monkey stood up on it's hind legs to run away carrying his neighbor's food that he stole.
Lazy monkey.
Bad monkey.

As Stan said: Lazy monkeys, bad drivers :)

I see monkeys driving around on the roads everyday, everywhere.

Well the surgeon said everything went exceptionally well and i have to say the leg pain i was having is greatly reduced and they say will get better throughout rehab as the swelling goes down, but MAN, the pain right now from the actual surg is just awful when trying to move at all, but guess this is normal.
Wanted to say to you all though that I really appreciate those who've offered up the concern and encouragement. When I first posted this I was just dicouraged that I was fiinally ready to begin working on my C when all these health set backs popped up, I wasnt really
looking for sympathy, but I do appreciate the concern, so, thank you all.
Ken.

I'm surprised your even coherent what with all that pain. Get better.
The pain is getting close to being under control the longer this goes. They have me hooked to what I think they called a PCA, which is a"drug pump", where you get a predescribed amount automatically on the hour, plus i can hit a button every 12 min for an additional dose as i need it till its tolerable....im still hitting it every 12 min. for now. I'll just be glad when I'm a couple of weeks further down the road. Just been sitting here for the last couple of hours reading what you guys are doing to your rides.

Glad to hear you had a successful outcome and wish you well on the recovery .. do the PT work after you are out of the hospital. You are correct on the acronym. It stands for Patient Controlled Analgesia (PCA) .. pump and I'm quite familiar with them from Air Evac. The ones we use look the the orange one below .. and you may go home with one of them

But there are larger ones like this that you are probably on now

It may be weird I know but yeah sneezing has always been OK by me or always was .. ever see old movies where they hit the snuff and sneeze LOL. Unfortunately my disc pops out a little more than is comfortable in certain situations and is kinda worrying for a second or so but then it's over and I press on. I, like most country folks ain't too keen on going to the hospitals all that much while I can still grit it out.

Back pain and issues aren't reserved for old guys, about a year ago I dislodged the Sacroliac Joint in my lower back, talk about pain, even worse it helps connect the Spine and Pelvis, to sit down it almost killed me, for two weeks I either lied down or stood.

Hope you recover quickly.

Nick
