I'm sure this issue has been posted numerous times before, but here I go; the headlamps on my '67 300 flicker on/off at random intervals and a nice police officer pointed out the fact that my tail lights don't work. I suspect that either the headlamp switch or the dimmer switch is the cause. Hazards and brake lights work so grounding should be ok. Looking on line brings up 2 options - $12 replacement switch or $100 NOS. Does anyone have experience with the $12 replacements (which unfortunately cost $25 to ship to the great white north).
Also, any tips on removing the old switch? I see references to a secret release but no specifics.
Thanks,
Mike

I just went through this on my 66 Sport Fury. My switch is a combo switch. Headlights and dimmer. Purchased it from my local parts house for like $25 and haven't had an issue since. When I pulled out the old switch,..it was stamped MOPAR on the back of the switch. I thought that was cool!

A little embarrassed to say that the tail light issue was a bad connection in the fuse panel. The fuse was good, just wasn't making good connections so I pulled it and cleaned the terminals on the spring mount and fuse, that part is solved. I haven't had a chance to go out cruising at night to see if the headlamps are also stable, still waiting on the parts to arrive and will swap both just to be safe. It looks like the entire cluster needs to be removed to change the headlamp switch...I'm sure that will be fun.
Love your Fury BTW.

Is the head light switch above the fuse panel? If so disconnect the battery first, them take the one bolt that holds it in and you'll be able to get to the switch. There will be a button on the back of the switch that you will need to press to get the pull handle out
of the switch. Then just remove the bezel and remove the switch. Take your time! It's not that bad.

I cant tell you how many times guys have serious electrical issues and its a bad ground or a loose wire.... never as bad as they thought

Thanks for the tip. It is directly in line with the fuse panel so I'll follow your advice. It will take approx 2 weeks to get the switch, let you know how it goes!

2 weeks for the switch? Is it a reproduction or something? I got mine at Conway Auto the same day!! I think I paid like $25 and it works like a charm.

Everything shipped to Canada costs $$ so I just ordered the parts locally. They had the dimmer but need to order the HL switch. Should get it in time to store the car for winter.
