I believe the price is reasonable.

To get a low mileage, rust free, turn key C-Body like Dave's Dad car which is an excellent car and great $$$ score (I believe there is a bunch of them out there yet) and I would say the $$$ starting point for a great car is $7500 and up.

Oh definitely Bob, I'm just saying those are some seriously sticky decals and one of us wondered how it could still be on through a power washing. I'd say its worth the asking price as it appears to need very little to be where we all want our cars to be.

I agree the seller has some splain'n to do about the beat up air cleaner and rad. If it looks too good to be true it usually is.

The rad just looks like it was degreased and power washed, its not beat up and whatever happened to the air cleaner didn't happen while on the car, IMO.

I agree with what everyone says here. If I was interested in this particular car, I would have some questions too. I would definitely drive with a trailer and put my eyeballs on it myself before pulling the trigger......or I would trust a bunch of guys on FCBO to take a first look for me.

For me,the dent in the rear bumper is a bigger issue than the air cleaner.I think it's a fair price, not a fan of blue!

Why would you get rid of your grandfathers car when it is that nice. Unless the grand father was like 120yrs. old and the grandson is pushing 80 ok I could see not being interested if your not a car guy at 80 but really.

Overpriced? You guys are out of your mind. That's maybe the nicest original 68 NY left on the planet & you don't think it's worth 10K? Sheesh.....

As to why he's selling it, really none of your business & ridiculous to judge or speculate.

Parts like air cleaners, suspension, rims etc. are usually painted without a big deal of preparation and usually without primer; I even found spots in the engine compartment or sun roof framing where you could just chip off the paint with your fingernail with older cars; so to me this is no specific sign of a higher mileage and the rest of the car looks as if it could be well below 100 k.

That air cleaner reminds me of the time I was working on my four wheel drive 1961 F100. My father decided to work on his 1976 BMW motorbike that same night. He removed his mint condition seat and set it on the concrete in front of my truck. Needless to say, when I headed out to school the next morning in my truck his seat was never the same.

153,000 miles and never power washed nor repainted yet

...Why is the ground for the negative battery cable not connected? Because some dummy installed a new battery and wasn't paying attention?

1968 they didn't use that ground, I just cut them off on my cars (67,69,70)
