What do you think? Think I should try to by this at under $5K? Runs & drive but had dash burn-out.

What’s the story with the missing Dash?
I think he had a hot wire fire and pulled dash for a work-around. He says it runs and the 440 was fresh when he got it upon his brother's death 2 years ago. What’s the story with the missing Dash?

Good enough but it is not my favorite.I would guess it was an amp gauge fire as well. I'd make lesser offer and see what his response is. Are you good with electrical work?
Sounds like a plan, thx.First the pros: The car appears to be a solid car with little rust - if any. The quarters look good and straight. The 440 engine is a plus. And its a convertible. BUT a thorough inspection of the car is required to verify the foregoing.
The cons: The dash wiring is gonna be a nightmare to trouble shoot and fix. The convertible top frame is either bent or broken somewhere. Looking at the under-hood photo, there appears to be some mickey mouse wiring, and some chebby guy painted the firewall black.
I would start with an offer of $3500 and go from there. . .
Am I right in thinking that the engine compartment should match the body color. My 64 NY'r did.First the pros: The car appears to be a solid car with little rust - if any. 440, no air, 22" rad = not unusualI would confirm the 440 too...isnt that the smaller radiator that came with the smaller engines?
Ok...but id still confirm it. Air cleaners can say anything you want. And at 52yrs old its always possible its been swapped. Just to know what one is buying...440, no air, 22" rad = not unusual
