So you live here: Bisbee, Tombstone, Sierra Vista all close.
I live in Tempe and spent a summer living in the Santa Rita mountains outside of Tucson. I was 21 at the time.
It was 1970 and I was working on a project to sample arthropods in the desert below the mountains. I also love Bisbee and Douglas which are closer to the Mexican border. The Gadsden Hotel in Douglas AZ:
In the 1970s I was in Bisbee and Douglas with my girlfriend. We drove to Douglasand got a room at the Gadsden which opened in 1907. From our window there was a huge smokestack used in the copper smelter looming not far away.
I suggested this might be a good spot for a BA (bare ***). So, she did one out the window with that chimney in the photo.
I have it on a slide as I was not printing pictures then.
When the copper mine closed in Bisbee in 1975 you could buy a house there for around 5 K as most of the population left.
I did not buy one as I had no $. Too bad they are worth a fortune today.
