I am overseeing the American Postwar 1960-1975 for the very prestigious Concours d'Elegance of America at St. John, (formerly Meadowbrook concours) in Plymouth, Michigan, in the Detroit area. This show is one of the finest Concours events in the country, and will be held Sunday, July 26. www.concoursusa.org

For the American Postwar 1960-1975 group, we will feature ALL big body convertibles, with most having a bit of a performance twist. I have some fine representation from Chevy, Ford, Oldsmobile, Pontiac and Mercury, but am in need of at least one 300 and also an Imperial. Cars must be the "best of the best" and 100% stock appearing.

If you own one of these cars and would like to be a part of a truly outstanding event in a beautiful setting, please send photos and information to me at bashton426@gmail.com.

This year we will also have a fantastic display of Virgil Exner designed cars with some really outstanding cars and new this year, trucks including 57 and 58 Dodges and an ultra rare 58 Fargo. For the Muscle Car group, we will showcase ALL "Aero Cars" with some fine Charger 500's, several Daytona's and several Superbirds, along with Talledega's and Cyclone Spoilers II's.

Hope you will consider joining us, either with one of the above named cars or as a spectator!

You make a ton of money doing these shows.
What do our Best and Brightest here at FCBO, the Premier site for all things C-bodies and home to anybody that has the most desireable, get in return for their time and great expense?
Free exposure?
Can a Chrysler 300 have a sign on it that says "survivor" without authorized permission?

The show is an "invitational" and vehicles are selected. You don't just show up and drop $15.00 and get a dash plack.

The best of the best are fetured there, a great experience. It would be an honor to be selected.

GOD DAMN IT !!!!!!!!!!!! I just got here !!!!!

I AM NOT GOING BACK TO DETROIT !!!!!!!!!!!!!! :gah:

I know Will and I was just having fun with it. Rarely do major events come looking for "us". It is great that he came to us here at FCBO. :D

I know you were havin fun Stan ...... I wouldn't expect any thing less.

I was just elaborating on the event. I have had my restorations invited to the show in the past and really enjoyed the experience. I'm not sure where it's held now but it was held on the grounds of the Dodge mansion several years back, Man ..... what a place that is.
It's too close to Carlisle or I would have submitted Jazebelle for concideration,

I wonder if a google search brought him to us .....?

Thant sounds like fun and I'm sure Matt will apply. I think I would go whether I was selected or not. I just saw the one 300 comment, oh well I still am going to put it on the calendar. We were going to see a cousin the end of July in MI so the timing should be perfect.

Ok now I checked out the site. My 300 is a driver, this is way out of my league, but I still want to go looks pretty cool and not far away.

I think your 300 would more then qualify Mike ..... You should submit. It's a great experience.
Having your car selected for the Concours d'Elegance of America is about as good as a AACA junior award.
It's a great show to attend even if your not participating, It's really not a casual outing ..... It's fun to wear some sort of vintage clothing there.

Convertibles only....that ticks me off! As if the rest of the C bodies are worthless. Even if I COULD go to that show, I'd boycott it.

The display they are puttng together is ALL convertibles ....... GM, FoMoCo & Chrysler of the 60's. It's a concours .... not a show. Thats how they do things.

I am guessing you are razzing me, but let me address your concerns.

The Concours d'Elegance of America at St. John is a charity event that Benefits many Detroit area charities including the Leader Dogs For The Bl.

It is indeed one of the most prestigious events in the country and invited participants will be among the finest cars in the world, thus allowing outstanding positive exposure for the C-bodies we both love.

I am also serving this year as the Event Chairman for the annual EyesOn Design show held at the Edsel & Eleanor Ford House in Grosse Pointe Shores, MI. on Fathers Day. This event is a benefit for the Detroit Institute of Ophthalmology, a very worthy cause. www.eyesondesigncarshow.com

My "real" job is as Managing Member and Co-owner of the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals show in the Chicago area. This is the world's largest all indoor specialty show devoted to Muscle Cars, Dealer-built Supercars and Corvettes. This is a non charity event, but believe me, with the incredible cost of doing business, nobody is getting rich off of it! lol Last year we hosted over 100 Mopars with a total of 566 cars from 29 states and several country's. You may have seen the show in recent issues of Muscle Car Review, Mopar Collectors Guide or Hemmings Muscle Machines. If not, go to the media page on the MCACN website.

All kidding aside, I am a very passionate long time car guy that is able to make a living doing what I truly love, and it is not about the money, (just ask my wife....)

As for how I found this site, I have been a "lurker" for a few years and am also a member and participant on the B and E bodies Only sites. I have a 390 powered '73 AMC Hornet in my garage and I used to run the Auto Know Literature and Collectibles store in the Detroit area. I also set up a big display at the Mopar Nationals every year, (over 20 years now!) and we Sponsor the Mopar Nationals Model Car Contest in the midway every year.

THANKS...and any help in locating some great convertibles to represent Mopar at this VERY prestigious show is very much appreciated!

I've had entries in the Meadowbrook concourse d'Elegance and the Eyes on design, (then eyes on the classics), shows and really enjoyed both. The hospitality is wonderful, and there are vehicles that rarely come out of private collections.

The show format of displaying the cars with hoods, trunk lids and doors closed for the purpose of showcasing each vehicles design/style has always been my favorite way to display my cars.

A row of cars with their hoods gapping open is a turnoff to me ...... looks like a big service center full of broke down cars. Not very photogenic either. If someone asks to see the engine I gladely open the hood ..... discuss everything ....... and then close the hood.
