Mexico: This summer in the state of Puebla up in the mountains

Wow! You are a very frugal man. Impressive
Very interesting situation with the alleys and trash down there. I hate how much stuff gets thrown into the dumps daily.
Not like that up here in Colorado.

I forgot this one: My wife decided we needed to pee outside. GREAT! So, she set up a bucket with some water in it and we pee in there. When it is full enough, she dumps it on the garden...no smell at all.

That saves loads of water wasted on a small amount of pee. My friends all use it too.

Just found a 3-drawer bureau in the alley today...into the garage. The never-ending alley shopping. And a big load of cans too.

Raked up the neighbor's leaves that have fallen and hauled them to my house for compost. About 80 pounds of leaves so far this month.

Frugal yes and also a cheap bastard too!

So a frugal cheap ***. Wow. Reaching new levels.
Seriously though, that's awesome that you can save so much and not have to be so connected to the system.

I am connected

gas for the water heater and stove

electricity

water

etc. as I live in a big city

I just do not use lots of it.

I also work from home so I do not have to drive to work.

My 1994 B150 Dodge Van now has 168,000 miles on it

That is the only vehicle I have.

Van:

1994 Dodge Ram Van B-150 3.9 L V-6 engine 168,311 miles 10-11-2024

Garden last summer with solar oven

Tempe, AZ Garden 2-16-2024

Tempe Garden 1-19-2024

Other Mopars owned:

1992 Daytona IROC R/T 5-2006 18,000 original miles

86 Dodge Daytona Turbo I

Nice looking van.
I'm surprised how much growth your garden got in one month, and in January no less.
Nice daytona also! 18K miles. That thing is cherry!

It is a winter garden so it grows like all hell...Lots of sun here of course too!

Both Daytonas were all original low mile cars.

The 1992 IROC R/T and the Spirit R/T both had the
2.2 intercooled, turbocharged, 16 valve, DOHC engine.
Very low production.

the 1992-93 Daytona IROC R/T production was 553

That engine added 8,000 dollars to the price of the car!

Base price was $17,259.00

Mine had the slave CD player, factory alarm, rear wiper, and overhead console

The only option it lacked was leather seats.

0-60 times were in the high five second range

There were 4 turbos 1984-1993 on the 2.2 4 cylinder engines:

1. Turbo 1 Turbo
2. Turbo 2 Turbo /intercooler
3. Turbo 3 Turbo /intercooler/DOHC/16 valve
4. Turbo 4 Turbo /intercooler and VNT (Variable nozzle turbo)

1 and 2 were pretty trouble free

3 Was expensive and nothing interchanged with any other models...including: The A/C, Cooling system, brakes, wiring, power steering, computer and more.
There was no distributor just a coil pack.

The head and valve train were built by Lotus. There were no aftermarket parts. The heads cracked and warped and were mostly replaced under warranty.
Pretty much nothing under the hood interchanged with any other engine except the radiator cap!

4 The turbo was a problem

.

1. came out in 1984 to 1988
2. came out in 1986 to 1990
3. 1991-93 (Spirit R/T 1991-92) (Daytona IROC R/T 1992-93)
4. 1990 only 1,250 built

Below from Wikipedia:

Four series of turbocharged 2.2 and 2.5 liter engines were produced, normally referred to as Turbo I, Turbo II, Turbo III, and Turbo IV. The primary difference between these engines was the use of an intercooler (in all except Turbo I). The Turbo III, ironically developed after the Turbo IV, was coupled to high-performance, four-valve-per-cylinder head developed in cooperation with Lotus, bringing 224 horsepower (167 kW) from the 2.2 liter engine. The Turbo IV pioneered the use of variable nozzle technology to minimize lag.

The T3 that I had would scare the crap out of you if you jumped on it. The front tires would smoke and then it just went like all hell. I put my wife who is from Vietnam in it once.

Went to the end of my short dead-end street with her in it. Then I launched it and hit the brakes at the end of the street. (4 wheel discs were standard). She gasped and nearly had a heart attack.
