It will be a very slow removal.My '75 had/has that too. It was falling down in pieces over the years onto the carpet.
Be carefull with it! There might also be one between the carpet, and passenger floor pan/trans tunnel. Water ate that one up on mine.

She is pretty much a time capsule. She still had the original Mopar plugs in and would start and run.Wow...... I haven't seen a brake controller like that since the seventies.
