Mopar steel wheel size question.

Did Mopar (or Ford, even) ever make a 16" steel wheel with a 5 X 4-1/2" bolt pattern?
Not a metric wheel but a wheel with RWD offset and back spacing.
I'll guess 80's D100 maybe?

I had a '46 Ford with sixteen inch wheels and blackwall tires with Port-A-Walls from Pep Boys. Does that count ?

Why are you looking for 16" wheels?
Because I have the factory 14" wheels now.
The time is coming when I have to pop for a full set of tires.
14" tires with the correct profile ratio FOR MY CAR IN MY OPINION ( :D ) are now non-existent except through Coker and the like. $$$$$$$$
At another time, a move to 15" was a no brainer.
The fat profile 15" is now going the way of the Dodo Bird. Why get locked in?
Just jump to the 16" wheel in the first place and I'm good for the rest of my lifetime.

The look is perfect for a '67 car.

Profile, offset, scale... all perfect.

Cheapo, plain old OEM wheels are A+.
I can't imagine settling for a wheel that won't meet OEM specs.
I'm not trying to over engineer the thing. Just meet minimum specs.

Ah, about those trusses... LMAO

Those would look really good on any slab C body, I think. I hope if you go that route you will post a how-to guide on any modifications needed to the center holes.

Ahh, you have uncovered one of my pet peeves. The marketing slogan, "when good enough.... isn't."

By definition, good enough is. If perfection is required, then if it's not perfect, it's not good enough.

Odd, this (and the other follow-ups) didn't appear when I clicked on this link, but they're a day old.

How much searching have you done in tire sizes available for 16" wheels? I looked and found mostly SUV tires, but then again, I'm looking for a different size. I'm trying to, as closely as possible, match the rolling diameter of my factory tires, but they're 9.15-15, and I think your car is considerably smaller. So for me, I was trying to find 235/75-16 or similar. I didn't see a lot until I went to 235/65-17, and that was too far afield. However, you might be right on the money with 235/65.

What size are you looking for?

The other place you have an advantage is dog-dish hubcaps. I'm looking at either cutting up an original wheel to weld to a new wheel so I can still run factory wheelcovers, or rim-laced spoke wheels, as on Stormer's car (really like those). Either is too much project or money for right now, but dreaming is free.

The Panther 16" cop wheels and whatever the standard size tire is for them will be perfect in my opinion.
And not over the top expensive. The wheels are cheap and plentiful and the tires a readily available common size from all the manufacturers.
It makes sense to me.
Anybody???

My speedometer is so far off now that I have to get a new gear eventually anyway.

OH. And it will have cop wheels, cop tires.... :D

You could google "stock car wheels" or something like that. The stock car guys go through a lot of steel wheels and they are usually priced reasonable. The right place might even make a set with a Chrysler center and a 16" outer.

There may be some local shops that build wheels for the stock car guys too.

are you going to even put enough miles on it to ever need a second set of tires?

Or could you buy a set of 15 x 7 vintage cop wheels and tires and be done for life?

The possibilities are endless.
Now that I've been able to talk this through I now know what all the realistic options are and I know where I should keep my eyes open and grab the first good deal that comes along.

What's the matter with all those guys over there.
So secretive.
Ads say "Local pickup only" and they don't give their location. WTF?
Posted like that here, 10 guys would be on him like a wet t-shirt.

He listed a location. Michigan.

If someone want's to come get them them they can PM him for details or ask for the town in the ad

If they are not likely to travel to Michigan it really doesn't matter where in Michigan and shipping from top or bottom of Michigan is probably not much different to FL or elsewhere

You're missing my point.
You keep referring to one specific ad.
I'm talking about the other 99% of the ads.

Mods do ensure locations are listed but we can't review every single ad but thankfully like here if you list an ad w/o a location (at least a state) members are all over it. This is really not a problem over there actually.

show me the multiple ads you are a saying don't have any location .. even 3
