Same reason some people drive big pickup trucks I suppose.

Seems ok to me. If you put the work into making your car win stuff then there's no shame in showing it off a bit.

Was the most embarassing moment when someone came to me and my car with a microphone and a video camera to present me a third place trophy for a contest I didn't even know I entered. I had some lines in the interview that actually became even pretty unintentionally funny. Trophy's somewhere in the basement catching dust. Usually I prefer to stay away from this.

I used to be involved with a couple local car shows years ago and have done a bit of judging.

I was at one show and it came down to two cars for one particular award. I went back and forth several times on these two cars and couldn't find anything that swayed my decision either way. Both were very nice, very clean and equal in just about every way. The only difference was one guy had a bunch of trophies displayed and the other guy didn't. I finally decided that the guy with the trophies really didn't need another one.

It was a good decision too.... The guy that lost threw a hissy fit.

Yes it is, any wall plaque I get I hang on the wall in the garage.
