More Recent Photos of 1971 Chrysler 300 Sunroof Car That Showed up on Facebook

Hey guys, i'm the current and second owner of the car. Here's the back story.
In 1990, one of my brothers was working at a Chrysler/Plymouth/Dodge dealer in Harrisonburg, VA. He called me one day and said a gentleman was there buying a new car and had a 71 Chrysler 300 he wanted to sell as the dealer didn't want it and was I interested. I rounded up a buddy of mine and we drove up to look at it. I bought it and drove it home and parked it in a barn at another brothers farm where it sat for 32 years, until last summer. In July, this brother wanted me to move it to my shop so we loaded it up and brought it to my place and I started tinkering on it. I changed the oil, pulled the distributor and primed the oil pump, put a carb on it, points and plugs and it fired right up. Since then i've rebuilt the carb, went through the brakes, had the alternator and starter rebuilt, muffler, new gas tank, etc. I rinsed it off with water and a microfiber cloth and i've been driving it since July. I left the 1991 inspection sticker and city sticker and all the parking stickers/bumper stickers that were on it from the prior owner.
The car was sold new in Louisiana and the gentleman moved to Virginia in 1977. I have the bill of sale and some of the other paper work. I haven't pulled the back seat but i'm sure the broadcast sheet is there. The trunk floor and floor pans are spotless. It is original paint. The wires for the top switch were unplugged and I haven't done anything to open it. The sunroof wrench was in the glove box. It has power seats and power windows, cruise, am/fm, A/C, P/D/B, P/S. The headlight doors work perfectly and I only replaced one headlight. All the other lights worked with the exception of the right fender turn signal indicator. It runs great and the transmission works flawlessly and it's a blast to drive!
I've sent pictures and info to Scott for the registry.

That is an amazing story - thanks very much for sharing and being a part of the forum.

Could you tell us the number of miles on the sunroof 300?

So you really have a V code as well that you might be willing to share a photo of with us as well, even though it isn't a C body?

I have shown mine in the past on this forum and it is an E body.

Thanks!!

The Chrysler has 135,000 miles.

My 6BBL car is in process. Its a 70 GTX, 4 speed, 3.54 dana, N96, P/S, P/D/B, black bucket seat interior w/buddy seat, FY1, no hood blackout. It has all OEM sheetmetal with the exception of patch panels in the rear lower quarters. Parked inside in 1977 after the engine was blown. Has 54.000 miles. I've owned it since January of 1988. I'll dig out a picture of it.

I didn't know there were breakdowns available like that. Is it known how many U code 71 300s were built?

the breakdowns arent available, years ago i was lucky enough to see a 71 chrysler option and accessory sales report.
for 71 there were 350 2dr and 108 4dr htop 300s with U code TNTs.
thats about as much info i have

Sure would be awesome if someone, somewhere would come through with more of those "Accessory Sales Reports".
Do those exist for anything else?
Did they exist for the other body cars?

yeah they were generated after the end of model year production for all mopar divisions and their models and are the accurate numbers from the accounting department.
separate reports for us and canadian production
they did them from the early 60s on thru at least the 80s if not early 2000s.
not sure if they are still doing them ( cant see why they wouldnt).
