And here is the 340 block. Note the lifter bored. They have been relocated. Moved over a bit to allow the big port W2 race head to have push rod clearance & the straighten out the push rod angle. This is good stuff here folks

Some more history for you guys. This pic was taken at Milan Michigan in 1970. Barney Oldfield in the Missile Cuda taking on the Preperation H Ford Mavrick of Tom Schumaker. Here's the deal. The Maverick is powered by a 300 inch inline Ford 6 cyl. Out of Jack Roush shop in Lithonia Michigan. They took two Boss 302 heads & cut & welded them to work on the Ford 6. Clearly an experiment to see if the lighter car could run with the big Hemi car. It couldn't , but you got to love the ingenuity.
