Hi all was referred to this sight from another Mopar site. I picked up this 66 a few months ago needing (nothing) since my current project was not close enough to being finished to take on the Hot Rod Power Tour. The reality is I had to work it every night late in to the night for 3 weeks strait to make it road worthy. Got it all back together the night before and was able to do the whole tour in the car with my family. Put 2800 fun miles on the car. It was pretty uneventful until we lost a carrier bearing in Wichita KS. Was able to adapt a Cadillac / Buick one and finish the tour and drive home to Dallas TX.
It will soon be time to let it go to the next care taker but still a few things to sort out before I put on the market. One of the annoying things is the steering box was had a pretty steady leak. I got it out and replaced seals but now going back together it a different story. The mouting of the box is like nothing I have ever seen. The shop manual calls for a special tool that replaces the steering column to align the box. Is there any rules to align it right without the tool or just measure and eyeball it the best I can?
