18 year old son, foggy, speeding, 3:00 AM...

He's fine, truck is gone, trading title for tow & storage fees.

Yep, side impact so no airbag. He smashed his face on the steering wheel even with seatbelt on. Damn lucky.

Hey Ross ...... Did that truck have the overhead digital compass/temp unit....?

The one in my 96 won't show the temp anymore.

Thanks guys, he's fine...

The truck was a nice clean Ram with under 100K on her. The ladder was on a brand new ladder rack which is now in the bed. The ladder was put there for storage after the accident.

I don't know but Morris's Auto in Bluffton SC has the truck & ownership thereof. I haven't even seen it with my own eyes & I'm not driving to SC to even try to salvage some of the brand new **** that I had on or in the truck.

The boys mother lives in SC & he's with her right now...

How do you have an 18 year old son??? Anyway, glad you still do!

I got married way too young & I was 24 when he was born. He's a good kid but I've just about had it... Turns out teenagers don't make good decisions.

You think???
apple didn't fall far from the tree I bet...

When my oldest son was 20, he rolled his Saab down at the end of the street. Took the corner too fast and ended up in the ditch on it's side.

He was OK, the Saab was a little bent, but still usable. The cops read him the riot act and he got a ticket for unsafe speed.

He was giving a guy a ride home, someone he really didn't know all that well. He was OK too, but later that night, he was in a bad part of town and got shot in a robbery attempt. He lived through that, but talk about a bad day....

The good thing about it was my son learned a valuable lesson... He wasn't invincible and **** happens.... He became a much more careful driver after that.

Don't ever give up! I had one son that was a real handful and we all got through it. He's a Dad now too with a good job. I never gave up on him... I had to pick my battles at times, but it's all good now.
